These women should be ashamed of how they act but they definitely are not.

“Let’s trust our fellow citizens to have been smart enough to have voted for the people they thought they ought to be voting for.”

That is just one pearl of wisdom given to the women of The View when former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice appeared on their show this week. The four women were obviously expecting, and digging, for some very different responses than they were given.

Over and over, the hosts pushed Rice, trying to get her to admit or agree, looking for some validation of their liberal hyperbole. They were not given anything but enough rope to hang themselves with.

From the childish way that Whoopi Goldberg refuses to say President Trump’s name to Joy Behar saying “He made me love George Bush, I’ll tell you that,” the women should be embarrassed by their performance.

The topics they discussed ranged from Michael Flynn to North Korea with a big focus on Russia of course. Joy Behar questioned Rex Tillerson’s ties to Russia and then Sunny Hostin challenges our election process.

“But Madam Secretary, if he (Putin) did, indeed, engage in these types of tactics in our election, then the very legitimacy of our election is an issue, isn’t it?”

Rice quickly sets the women straight, standing up for the democratic system that worked in 2016 just as it has for hundreds of years.

“No, no, and that’s where..first of all, I don’t want to question his motives beyond, he is an eye for an eye kind of person. Secondly, I trust the people who voted in Wisconsin and Texas and Alabama and California to have voted on the basis of who they thought was best going to represent their interests. And so I’m not going to question the legitimacy of their vote because Vladimir Putin tried to interfere in the elections. That’s just a step that I don’t think we should take.”

It is heartening to hear a strong, intelligent woman defend America, its president, and the direction we are going in. It is also rare, especially from someone who served under Obama.

This is not the first time that Rice has defended President Trump or expressed that he is acting competently and it will certainly not be the last. Democrats should watch and learn from her and begin to understand they are not going to make the rules anymore.
