WARNING: Holiday Words Now Being Banned, Too “Offensive” To Say In Public

Our religious war

Political correctness is a commonly used term by the Left. On one hand, it is often not taken seriously because it quickly becomes ridiculous. On the other hand, an increasing number of people are demanding that everyone conform to a politically correct society.

Not many know that the term hails from the early 1900’s and the idea goes back even further. In 1923 in Germany, a think-tank is established. Their job was to translate Marxism from economic into cultural terms. By the end of the 1930’s they had essentially created the term we know today.

It was then termed Critical Theory but the basis is the same; it called for the most destructive criticism possible, in every possible way, designed to bring the current order down. They needed people to fall in line and return to a Marxist society but they couldn’t say that outright. Instead they sought out someone to take the blame. They found Christianity and Western Civilization. Proponents of the movement asked, “Who will save us from Western Civilization?” The answer is that “workers will never see their true class interests, as defined by Marxism, until they are freed from Western culture and particularly from the Christian religion – they are blinded by culture and religion to their true class interests.”

It is not difficult to see the link. Many of the “oppressed” groups today claim that the whole of society is just out to get women or gays or Muslims or immigrants, etc. That kind of criticism descends from Critical Theory.

While the history and evolution of the term could go on for pages, the conclusion brings us to recent history. We now live in a society where people are so scared of offending someone else; we have stopped honoring our religious and cultural traditions.

Companies, desperate to hold on to business, avoid saying things such as “Merry Christmas.” It is no longer acceptable to have pictures of Santa Clause or Christmas trees in public. In order to gain conformity and inclusion, we are being forced to wipe out cultural identity and religion.

Political correct fanatics would have you believe that their goal is to include everyone. The impossibility of this is lost on them. Their attempts end in the majorities being the ones who are discriminated against.

The largely Democratic town of Bloomington, Indiana has decided that two holiday names are far too exclusive and need to be changed.

Under the guise of diversity and respecting different cultures, Columbus Day has been changed to “Fall Holiday” and Good Friday has been changed to “Spring Holiday.” The mayor, John Hamilton has told reporters, the new holiday names will “better reflect cultural sensitivity in the workplace.”

He claimed, “We are terrifically proud of our diverse workforce at the city. That diversity makes us stronger and more representative of the public we proudly serve. These updated names for two days of well-merited time off is another way we can demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity.”

We’ve gone too far

It would be easy to laugh at the outrageous claim except that this is just one example of how political correctness is taking over our country.

Columbus Day, honoring the arrival of the explorer in America, has often been a target of liberals who claim it celebrates the oppression of American Indians. Since there is nobody to campaign for Christopher Columbus, this slight against him will probably pass without too much interest.

Anyone with religious beliefs, which is over 90% of Americans, should be considered about the attack on Good Friday. This holiday is celebrated on the Friday before Easter Sunday by millions of Christians as the day Jesus Christ was crucified.

So Bloomington is actually discriminating against Americans who are Christians by changing the name of one of their important holidays. Unfortunately, the majority is highly unrepresented.

These supposedly inclusive new terms should be outrageous. However, mainstream media has joined the cult, and will not risk offending viewers by reporting the changes in this small city. Nor will they report all the other incidences of prejudice that will take place over the holiday season.

The only people who are left to defend the majority are the majority. We took one giant step in electing Donald Trump, who will clear out some of the P.C liberals in Washington. It is just the beginning of what needs to be done. We must stop being scared to invoke our First Amendment rights, stop hiding our pride in our religions and cultures, and stop caving in to liberal pressure.

We must speak out

America made a powerful statement in November and it is now time to repeat it until we are heard.
