It may be lions, tigers, and bears which get all of the attention when it comes to feared animals, but they are not alone. Snakes, alligators, and crocodiles have filled our pages as of late. Now we can add mammoth sized pigs to the numbers!
“Pigzilla” has arrived near a primary school, according to the Mirror, and he or she has shown up ravenous! This massive beast has been seen eating out of trash bins and dumpsters as those who have seen the boar can not believe their eyes.
In Hong Kong, as parents walked their children to school, they were taken back by what they saw. The Mirror reminds us that these animals come equipped “with razor sharp teeth and a huge amount of power in their front legs,” so there was ample reason for concern.
The huge creature was filmed with her patient offspring as it rummaged for their meal. The animal was even seen balancing on the dumpster as it grabs the trash with those foreboding teeth.
Should the beast feel that it, or worse the little ones, are threatened at some point, things could get quite ugly.
It was at first thought to be a male based on the gargantuan size, yet reports are that it must be female “as males tend to leave their ‘sounders’ (herd) at a young age.”
Over 4,6000 viewers have shared the video of the huge boar on social media and it has “had 300,000 views since it was posted on tu.com.hk.”
Some fear that the boars do not have enough to eat (particularly when they are that large) and one user wrote, “The wild pig is in front of the left school. I’m careful with Hyung-Hyung’s primary school, and I’ve got a wild boar.”
Another writer wrote, “It’s so hungry, and the wild boar has the right to live and [sic] freedom. He is only hungry.” Still another typed, “Many wild boars (are so hungry) they come to farms to steal their crops.”
Boars in the area have chewed the fingers off of locals, too. They mean business when they are ready to feed and even those walking their dogs have not been safe.
Certainly, something is going to have to be done.
Hunting may be an option if the numbers are getting out of control. If this route is chosen, judging by the size of these piggies, there won’t be anyone at the dinner table going hungry once this meal is brought home.
