The whole sports world is talking about the recent trend sparked by Colin Kaepernick, where black NFL players are taking a knee to protest racism, during the pre-game national anthem.
There are signs that this toxic display of anti-American bitterness is set to break out of the NFL and spread across the music and entertainment world. But it’s not likely to find much traction with NASCAR.
Legendary driver and team owner Richard Petty put it this way during a recent interview: “Anybody that don’t stand up for the anthem ought to be out of the country. Period. What got ’em where they’re at? The United States.”
He followed up by saying that any member of his team caught protesting the anthem would quickly find themselves out of a job.
Another NASCAR team owner, Richard Childress, made a similar statement when he proclaimed that protesting the anthem would get his employees a “ticket on a Greyhound bus”.
It looks like NASCAR is one of the last sports that is safe for patriotic, conservative Americans to enjoy without left-wing politics being constantly shoved down their throats!
