VA Whistleblowers Reveal Shocking News, Only HALF Are Being Filled As Veterans Suffer

Despite the fact that nearly 300 veterans dies waiting for treatment from the VA in 2014, the single payer government healthcare system is just as bloated, wasteful and inefficient as it's always been. Half of the appointments available aren't being used, leaving vets to wait from one to three months for medical service.

The VA has been under harsh criticism for the way it treats veterans. A number of patients were left to die in 2014 while waiting to see physicians in a scandal that broke open the abuses, waste, and utter incompetence of the Veterans Affairs agency.

Now new studies are showing that the system is no better than before. Despite having more than two years under the Obama regime to fix the broken system, the Internal Department of Veterans Affairs shows that the bloated government agency is only filling about half of its capacity to make appointments.

Veterans who served the country bravely have to wait, on average, more than 30 days for a medical appointment. Documents show that over 184,000 vets around the country are waiting longer than 30 days and new patients are having to wait three months before they can see a doctor.

Documents revealed that from July to September, veterans had to wait at least 30 days to see a physician.

The VA is a true, unbiased example of government “Single-payer” healthcare. Anyone who thinks that moving to a socialist system is a good idea should take a long look at the inefficiency, waste, and poor service provided when the government pays for healthcare.

This is what America would get if democrats and leftists have their way. Between July and September of 2017, records prove that the agency only utilized about 52 percent of the appointments available. So, basically, appointments could be placed, they just weren’t. Many people wonder why.

Without real facts, one possible answer could be that government workers do not have any incentive to perform well. If someone knows that no matter what they do, their paycheck will roll in like always, the drive to improve and excel is removed, creating a poor replacement for performance based reward.

Although the accountability office says they'll look into abuses, nothing really ever changes with the government agency.

These people don’t care. They don’t have to care. Sure, when a bunch of older vets died because of this sort of incompetence, there was outrage for a while. But the documents prove that it all went back to business as usual.

If a person is told by a private practitioner that there will be a three month wait, that person has an option to see another doctor for the appointment. However, veterans don’t have that solution. Many are retired and on fixed incomes. The United States promised to cover their healthcare costs.

The only thing that ever happens is the terrible performance of a single-payer American healthcare system is ignored or hushed up by the media. People make speeches and then forget about it.

The VA's incompetence is a perfect example of single-payer healthcare. It doesn't work, it's wasteful, and the treatment is abysmal.

Documents showed that in Iowa, the VA’s clinic utilization left 10,000 to 12,000 appointment unused. Yet, nearly 1,300 veterans had to wait at least 30 days for an appointment and some even 90 days. That is outrageous and wrong, but it’s exactly what all Americans will get if some democrats have their way.

The Phoenix facility, which was subject to so much scrutiny three years ago when 293 vets died waiting for treatment, only used 55 percent of the appointments available.

Although the Government Accountability Office has flagged VA Healthcare, nothing has really been done. Even the so-called CHOICE program, which sends vets to private doctors if needed, is inefficient and wasteful.

After whistleblowers released the VA documents Dr. Debra Draper, director of healthcare at GAO told reporters, “GAO will continue to look at medical appointment scheduling and wait times in its follow-up work regarding VA.”

But, so what? So, they “look” at it? How will that help?

The real lesson everyone should learn from the multiple problems of the single-payer VA healthcare system is this: America can’t afford to transform the world’s most innovative, highest performing medical system into a duplicate of the VA, because it will destroy the comfort and health of the country.

Everyone would be herded like cattle, no one would get appointments in time, and the treatment that would be delivered would be terrible. Now more than ever, conservatives must force the country away from the socialist dung heap where it’s heading and stand up to the liberal ideology that seeks to put more VA-type healthcare in place.
