I have a quick question for readers: During the election season, how many of you heard about corruption inside Hillary Clinton’s charities? Yes, Hillary’s different “charitable” organizations operated more like a way for her to reward people that donated to her cause.
Both the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative operated more like pay-to-play scandals than actual charities. There were a plethora of incidents that showed how the Clinton family would take an extremely generous donation from foreign governments, even while Hillary was still the Secretary of State.
In other words, it’s just another scandal that can be added to this family. However the American people saw through the corruption and voted in Donald Trump as president. Earlier this week we learned that the Clinton family would be shutting down their Clinton Global Initiative “charity.” They can give all the reasons they want, but according to the author of Clinton Cash, there was a specific reason for shutting it down.
Peter Schweizer, author of the aforementioned book and Senior Editor at Breitbart News, went on SiriusXM to talk about the closing of the charity. Schweizer said that the shutdown of the foundation was a “remarkable event,” namely because “the Clintons have essentially made it so obvious that there’s a connection between this so-called charitable activity, CGI, and their political fortunes.”
It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. It’s been a little over two months since Hillary lost the election and she chooses NOW to end the charity? It was obviously tied to their political power. She was a former presidential candidate later turned into the Secretary of State. She had a lot of political power at the time.
As Schweizer describes it, “… I think it’s just further confirmation to what we always believed, which is that their charitable activities really were directly linked to their political power, and now that that political power is gone, really honestly for the first time in 25 years – think about that – 25 years the Clintons have been on the national political stage…”
The host of the radio show, Alex Marlow, said that the Clintons should have kept their organization running for a bit, just to show that it wasn’t connected to their politics. Schweizer agreed and even said that their other organization, the Clinton Foundation, might suffer the same fate.
“Because let’s face it, what we talked about has been confirmed by the Podesta emails, it’s been confirmed by these events: if they can’t sell access to political power, they just don’t have a product, in the form of their form of philanthropy, that people want to donate to.”
As for the future, Schweizer said that Chelsea Clinton might make a run for Congress in two years, but that was really it. Not to mention that he said that Chelsea doesn’t have the “presence” for a successful political career.
“You’ve still got to show you’ve got the chops to actually get things done for your district in Congress… that you have a certain innate strength and an ability to perform. I don’t think the celebrity is going to be enough. She’s going to have to prove that.”
However outside of that, it doesn’t look like the Clintons are going to be involved in another presidential race. Schweizer said that even “people in the echo chamber around them” would point out her age and weakness on the campaign trail. Not to mention that other Democrats are still angry about her treatment of Bernie Sanders.
“We know they had the election wired against Bernie Sanders. We know they’ve got a lot of allies. But there is a lot of bubbling resentment among the Democratic grassroots that the Clintons need to go. They had their turn, they had their chance. A lot of Democrats are convinced that if they just had a different candidate, they could have beat Donald Trump. I don’t think that’s true, but I think there’s a lot of that thought out there.”
In other words, the Democrats WANT to see Hillary go. That also means if she can’t make another political run, then there was no point in having these foundations set up anymore. One thing is for sure though; we now have proof that these foundations were tied to her political power. Why else would she shut it down two months after losing the election?
Of course this might not be the only thing on Hillary’s mind. She still has to go to Congress for her email scandal. Now that Jeff Sessions is the new Attorney General, there WILL be progress made so that Hillary suffers the consequences. All I can say is that it’s about time!
As stated earlier, there is still a chance that a Clinton could continue to make waves in politics. That would be because there are rumors around that Chelsea would attempt to make a Congressional run, starting with the 2018-midterm elections. It’s still too early to tell, but one thing is for sure; the Clintons will not go away quietly.
Share this article to show everyone that the reason that the Clintons shut down their Clinton Global Initiative was because they couldn’t sell political favors to foreign governments anymore. Since they can’t get donations from foreign governments, they simply shut it down. Who knows, maybe the Clinton Foundation is next.
