Trump Doubles Down On Mueller Interview As Conservatives Warn Him Of Serious Danger

All of his closest aides have already done their part; but this is a witch hunt that doesn’t care about evidence.

Will President Trump listen?

As a businessman, President Donald Trump has been characterized for being what many people call “a shark.” Basically, we’re talking a figure that in a delicate situation prefers to have an aggressive stance rather than hiding behind the curtains. Believe it or not, this is exactly what he’s willing to do regarding the Russian investigation, as Wednesday reports revealed that the president is “looking forward” to meeting with the Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Naturally, it seems that the president is ignoring the warnings of many who believe this is a really bad idea.

In a brief moment that shocked everyone, the president told reporters at the White House that his main intention is to speak to the special counsel under oath. According to his words, this would be during an interview that he expects to take place within three weeks, although no one really knows when this could happen. “We’re going to figure it out,” the president said.

In a very controversial situation where any single mistake could have unpredictable consequences, President Trump is pushing for a face to face interview with the highest hierarchy of an investigation that is crumbling. The president is eager to have an interview with a man who won’t hesitate to execute the most powerful actions if he smells blood. After all, Robert Mueller has been around the block for a very long time.

When asked whether he will meet with the special counsel President Trump told reporters that he’s actually “looking forward to it.” In addition, the president said “I would love to do it,” adding: “I should say, subject to my lawyers.”As everyone knows, Mueller was the FBI Director before James Comey and was tapped in May to investigate possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives.

According to President Trump, “there’s been no collusion whatsoever.” In addition, he claimed he committed no obstruction of justice, an issue that the Russian investigation is now focusing on. Naturally, this particular issue has been extremely controversial over the last few days, considering that analysts agree that the investigation seems to be moving away from its initial purpose. In addition, many believe this is one of the main pieces of evidence that prove how Mueller is just trying to look any kind of crime, regardless if it has nothing to do with the main goal of his investigation.

While this stance clearly shows that he has nothing to hide, the truth is that President Trump expressed skepticism that he would ever need to meet with the special counsel. As a matter of fact, he had this stance earlier this month, when he pointed out that when the Russian investigation has “no collusion — and nobody’s found any collusion at any level — it seems unlikely that you’d even have an interview.”

Naturally, analysts believe that this new intention of having a face to face meeting with Mueller shows the president’s confidence on the end of an investigation that has been crumbling over the last few weeks.

In addition to the fact that some of the members of Mueller’s team have worked for the Democratic Party and even for the Clinton Foundation, one of the biggest controversies was the text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer who was also his mistress.

Some of those messages revealed not only the anti-Trump bias of these figures but also how they were planning certain actions that could work as an “insurance policy” in case the Republican won the 2016 presidential election.

Also, one of the biggest scandals regarding the Mueller’s investigation has been the possible use of the anti-Trump dossier to obtain a FISA warrant and be officially able to monitor Carter Page. As everyone knows, this man was the President Trump’s advisor during the presidential campaign.

As reported by Fox 9, the full scope of this investigation remains unknown. Apparently, this one involves dozens of witness interviews and even hundreds of thousands of documents. This media outlet also pointed out that the main topic that the Mueller team is focusing on now is the firing of FBI Director James Comey, and the discussions preceding the ouster of White House National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Legal experts believe that if the interview finally takes place, the main questions would be whether the president took steps to thwart the FBI investigation. According to previous reports, President Trump would like the interview to be live on air, so every single American could watch it.

Naturally, we’re talking about an aggressive strategy, given the fact that Mueller is not exactly a man who loves attention, and the president would be pushing him to his most comfortable area. Asked if he thinks the special counsel will be fair in the interview, the president replied: “We’re going to find out.”

While there are some people who believe this is a good move from the president, there are a lot of figures who warn this is something that could go wrong. One of the most vocals on this side is conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who recently claimed that President Trump shouldn’t have this interview with Mueller.

“I don’t care what format, I don’t care what circumstance, just don’t do it. There’s nothing to gain. Especially if they’re off the collusion business, there’s nothing to gain by talking to Mueller,” Limbaugh said.

While no one knows if the interview will finally take place, America could be about to witness a historical event that would definitely create a turning point in the history of U.S politics.
