The Democrats successfully carried out their plan in the United States Senate in late December to erase part of former President Thomas Jefferson’s legacy.
Further cowering to liberal political pressure, the Senate agreed to rename it the “Gateway Arch National Park.”
The rephrasing has nothing to do with Jefferson and what he accomplished for our nation, and Senate Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for voting to pass this salacious measure.
The Senate’s decision came after the massive rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last August, where white supremacists collided with left-wing protesters.
The clash occurred over the group protesting the city’s plans to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.
When liberals and media hacks began demanding all Confederate-era statues be removed, President Donald Trump said he didn’t agree with removing our national monuments across the country because we said we cannot rewrite history.
He quipped at the time that if they brought down a statue of former President George Washington, liberals would then push for Jefferson and many other statues to be removed.
Jefferson is one of our Founding Fathers, he was a principal author of the Declaration of Independence and served as the third president of the United States. Not only that, he single-handedly doubled the size of the United States when he agreed to the Louisiana Purchase with Napoleon. Without Jefferson‘s actions, there would be no U.S. there, it may have evolved similar to Canada.
All of that is now disqualifying to liberals and the U.S. Congress because they dislike what he may have done during the Confederacy.
As Trump has said on numerous occasions when will enough be enough? It seems as if every time Republicans give an inch, Democrats try to take a foot.
This is the kind of governmental tyranny our Founding Fathers warned about and encouraged the people to fight back against.
