Regardless of how a law will strip Americans of personal freedoms, unconstitutionally use taxpayer funds for outrageous programs, or endanger lives, democrats stick together like storm troopers rioting in the streets of Berlin. Not so with their conservative counterparts. Republicans are more concerned with their individual convictions, but the result of such “integrity” is that liberal policies pass, while true liberty dies.
While President Trump has been keeping the promises he made to voters during his campaign, five senate republicans showed their treachery and capacity for dishonesty yesterday. In a mendacious turn of events, the very senators elected to congress to specifically undo the travesty of Obamacare, denied their party and their constituents during the Wednesday vote, aligning themselves with the enemy.
The calculated move is causing a wave of righteous anger across the nation. Just days after allowing the straight repeal to be introduced, six backstabbing republicans reversed their positions and reneged on the vows they made to voters only a few short months ago.
The following five senators voted to repeal Obamacare in the past (2015) when it didn’t matter, and made pledges to voters on the campaign trail and in the halls of congress.
Lamar Alexander said, “The wisest course is to repeal Obamacare and replace it step by step with solutions that lower health care costs.” Yet, he did not fulfill his word. The 77-year-old senator is a staple in Tennessee politics, but make no mistake, that strong red state will remember his treachery in 2020.
Shelley Moore Capito stated, “I have consistently voted to repeal and replace this disastrous health care law, and I am glad that a repeal bill will finally reach the president’s desk.” This West Virginia woman’s duplicity unleashed a storm of Twitter posts from angry constituents. She’s also up for reelection in 2020.
Dean Heller used strong rhetoric to denounce Obamacare saying, “This DC bureaucrat-driven healthcare system will only result in limited health care choices and higher costs for Nevadans.” He lied. He was elected after the forcible passage of government healthcare and sent to Congress to specifically thwart it. Like Alexander and Capito, Heller will be finished in about 28 months.
Hypocrite Lisa Murkowski said, “This law is not affordable for anyone in Alaska. That is why I will support the bill that repeals the ACA and wipes out its harmful impacts. I can’t watch premiums for Alaskans shoot up by 30 percent or more each year, see businesses artificially constrained, or see the quality of public education decline.” She won in 2012 just because she took a hard line stance against Obamacare. Perhaps her years in lofty comfort have warped her understanding.
Rob Portman said, “I’m for repealing this broken law and replacing it with something better that gives patients more choice, decreases costs and increases access to quality, affordable care.” Not much can be done about Portman’s defection, this republican in name only (RINO) was elected last year, so Ohio voters will have to put up with his lying for the next six years.
Each one of these politicians broke his or her word. And although that has become an expected trait in congressional representatives, because of President Trump’s honesty and drive, the American people had begun to have hope. Citizens really saw a bright future, one without unjust laws that force people to buy a certain product and the establishment of laws that support a free nation, not controlled by government healthcare.
Susan Collins and John McCain were the other republicans who resisted the will of the people. Collins has been consistently idiotic, so no big surprise there. Perhaps she might consider changing sides? Her policies are much closer to the liberal injustice than conservative freedoms.
John McCain said he would repeal, but no one really expected him to keep his word, despite his recent vote.
These Obamacare frauds broke the biggest promise in history, so says Jenny Beth Martin, Tea Party Patriot president.
“For the last four election cycles, Republican candidates have promised to repeal Barack Obama’s signature legislation and as a result, have increasingly been granted more power in Washington by the American people. Now, Republicans are completely in charge and should find it easy to keep this critical promise that lifted them to power,” she explained.
Martin lambasted the turncoats and called on President to “take action” to end the congressional exemption of Obamacare. She argued that If these senators and their families had to feel the hardships created by government healthcare imposed on Americans, they might have the “motivation” to actually keep their word.
Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government issued a scathing statement, condemning the betrayal. “This is outright fraud. These senators have repeatedly lied to the American people about where they stood on one of the signature issues facing the nation.”
The legacy of Obamacare is the disastrous, unsuccessful attempt to take a working, free market enterprise and wreak utter havoc and destruction on it. It doesn’t work. Moreover, the long term results of socialized medicine actually hinder advancements in the field, so that countries that employ it are way behind the United States in treatment options for patients.
The most disturbing part of the business is that these five turncoats seem to have forgotten the republican symbol. Were they threatened by Soros funded thugs? Did they think that constituents would support their decisions? The elephant doesn’t forget, and the voters in these states will most definitely sure remember this treachery.
Yet, again, the liberals get their way and are rejoicing over the loss of freedom.
These five traitors will be removed from office, make no mistake. If they think that they can act contrary to the desires of the people they’re supposed to represent, they’ll discover their error soon enough. As long as President Trump continues to keep his word, Americans can outlast these RINOs, repealing and replacing them in 2020.
