So, while Crenshaw was defending the pampered elitist’s way of life and risking his own to save other people, this low life thought it would be amusing to mock the veteran.
Many people consider this an prime example of how liberals think, and the complete and utter disdain they have for anything noble, honorable, upright, or selfless. In fact, most liberals can’t even grasp the concept of what it means to serve others.
The Texas candidate responded on twitter, saying, “Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.”
Pete Davidson gave his ‘impression’ of some candidates on the “Weekend Update” segment.
He giggled as an image of former Navy SEAL Crenshaw flashed across the screen.
“You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate for Texas and not a hit-man in a porno movie,” Davidson said, breaking into a laugh. “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever,” the unfunny elitist said, continuing to laugh.
Crenshaw lost his eye after an improvised explosive device detonated. He explained what happened in an interview in March.
“One of our Afghan interpreters stepped on a pressure plate right in front of me,” he said. “About 15 pounds of explosives dismembered him right in front of my face. It blinded me, shattered me and knocked me over.”
“I woke up about five days later,” Crenshaw continued. “They took some time to stabilize me in Afghanistan and do the surgery to remove my right eye. I woke up without a right eye and blind in the left. They had little faith I would see again, but the fact they said there was a chance … I really believed I would see again.”
Neither representatives for Davidson nor NBC has responded after the comments drew heavy criticism.
The National Republican Congressional Committee called for an immediate apology from “SNL,” implying that Davidson is acting like a child after his highly-publicized breakup with pop-star Ariana Grande.
“Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country. Pete Davidson and NBC should immediately apologize to Dan, and to the millions of veterans and military families who tune in every weekend – because they’re not laughing,” a statement from NRCC spokesman Jack Pandol read.
Many people think that ‘personal issues’ had nothing to do with this vitriol… it is simply honesty from a group of self-absorbed, elite liberals who think people actually care about how they feel.
If they would only recognize that they are like paid moneys there to entertain people, perhaps they might learn something… but, probably not.
