Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is sounding the alarm on a liberal comedian who posed as a disabled veteran to score an interview with her. According to People, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has been dressing up in a variety of disguises and conducting interviews with prominent conservatives.
His stunts, which are for his upcoming Showtime series, “Who Is America?” are aimed at interviewing conservatives, editing the clips, and portraying the Republican figures in a negative light. Palin said the smug liberal was in “wheelchair and all,” in a “truly sick” trick for attention. This man disrespected all veterans with his sarcastic insult.
In a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday, Palin said Cohen was dressed up as a wounded veteran in a wheelchair. She lamented how she fell prey to a liberal comedian — who is enabled and sponsored by Showtime — and was not happy that he smeared wounded veterans with his costume.
Palin said she was asked to travel across the country for the interview, writing that Cohen had “heavily disguised himself as a disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all.”
The former governor said she agreed to do the interview because she believed it was an opportunity to honor and contribute to Americans who risked their lives to serve the nation.
Here’s part of what Palin wrote in her post:
“Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long ‘interview’ full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm — but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin. The disrespect of our U.S. military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse.”
Palin explained how it was all a joke to Cohen, saying that the actor disguising himself as a wounded veteran to slander the military was one of the most pathetic things she had ever seen. He found it humorous to disrespect wounded military veterans, and used the disguise as a facade to conduct an incredibly biased interview.
Following the interview and learning that she had been duped by Cohen and his Hollywood posse, Palin demanded that Showtime donate all of the proceeds from the show to a charity that actually supports and respects American veterans.
“Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want, if that lets you sleep at night, but HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country,” she wrote, adding, “Truly sick.”
Cohen’s final act was also incredibly sick. Palin said the show’s production team intentionally dropped her off at the wrong airport after the interview so she would miss her flight back home to Alaska.
On average, a flight from Alaska to Washington, D.C. — where the interview was conducted — takes roughly seven hours.
Palin flew seven hours for an interview to help raise awareness for wounded veterans. After sitting through a long interview and dealing with Cohen’s demeaning questions and smears against the military, Showtime’s crew intentionally dropped her off at the wrong airport so she missed her seven-hour flight back home.
He is nothing short of a scumbag. On Monday, Cohen released a trailer of his show, which will air on July 15. In the video, it appears to show former Vice President Dick Cheney signing a “waterboard kit.”
The video begins by stating Cohen has been secretly going undercover for a year to film his new show. Then, a voice can be heard in the teaser clip asking Cheney to sign his waterboarding kit.
This guy is sick, depraved, and downright disgusting. His show should be canceled and all of the proceeds should actually go toward helping veterans.
