Things are changing and the tide is high on the Russian witch hunt led by Special Council, Robert Mueller. Sarah A. Carter has just reported that “the Office of Special Counsel complied with a federal judge’s order and as a result turned over all evidence related to former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s case.”
In December of last year, Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered Mueller to give Flynn’s lawyers the whole supposed trove “that may have been withheld from the case.” On the 7th of that month, Columbia Judge Rudolph Contreras was recused, and Sullivan has seen many months pass before the data was given as the court demanded. Any evidence that may still be missing is going to be an even bigger boon for the general.
Flynn has admitted to one count of lying to the F.B.I., which stands out as quite odd since “the agents did not believe Flynn had lied about his conversation with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in December 2016.” This fact could lead someone to believe that either the general was fibbing about it in order to make President Donald Trump look bad or that he was led to do so by someone else for reasons unknown.
Sullivan was taking no chances and that all data “favorable to defendant and material either to defendant’s guilt or punishment.” He said, “The government is further directed to produce all discoverable evidence in a readily usable form.”
“For example, the government must produce documents as they are kept in the usual course of business or must organize and label them clearly,” he added.
If Mueller’s office was hiding information (as suspected), this could help Flynn a great deal. The National Review seems to think that the judge is worried about that being the case. Flynn’s attorney, meanwhile, has chosen to say nothing about these developments.
Congressional investigators with the House Oversight Committee found text messages “between embattled FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his paramour FBI attorney Lisa Page” showing that Contreras and Strzok were friends. Strzok was one of the first to interview Flynn and he was also found to be a known anti-Trump movement supporter.
Speaking about this, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) said, “It wasn’t a definitive answer but certainly raises significant questions” to the Joint Oversight Committee.
Page is found to have told Strzok, “Rudy is on the FISC! Did you know that? Just appointed two months ago,” in one message, so Jordana is not seeing ghosts where only shadows are.
The conversation also returned to “Rudy” and Strzok texted, “I did. We talked about it before and after. I need to get together with him.”
This is the kind of shady and highly questionable practices which pass as justice when Mr. Trump is attacked for a seemingly endless stream of sins that he never committed. Perhaps that is why issues like Stormy Daniels are being conjured up, even though those deeds (if true) happened before Donald Trump took an oath and committed himself to service . (It’s not like he brought her into the Oval office…)
As all of this becomes known, how much longer can it be before the full truth of the president’s full innocence comes out? With the information just released, that day may have already arrived… and it may spell doom for a number of deep state actors who have finally run out of time.
