Professor Investigated After Video Captures His Profanity-Laced Tirade Against Conservative Student

He was apparently upset with the student for insisting that "both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment.”

Just recently, Howard Finkelstein, a professor of Sociology at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey was caught on video verbally berating a conservative student for reportedly insisting that “both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment” (pictured above).

Just recently, Howard Finkelstein, a professor of Sociology at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey was caught on video verbally berating a conservative student, who was later identified as 23-year-old Christopher Lyle of Toms River, New Jersey, during a classroom discussion about sexual assault. Apparently, he was outraged because Lyle had reportedly insisted “that both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment.”

According to reports, the exchange was recorded by Joey Smith, a 26-year-old student, during Finkelstein’s Sociology 105 class about Intercultural Communication. At the start of the brief video, Finkelstein can be heard confronting Lyle about an example he had just used to support his claim.

“Did you really take the time to think about how that might impact [the other students in the classroom]?” asked Finkelstein.

In response, Lyle attempted to explain to his professor that he was trying to give a “real life example.”

Before he could complete his statement, however, he was interrupted by Finkelstein, who pounded his hand on the table and shouted, “No, I’m asking you — f*** your life!” After doing so, he then angrily repeated his question back to Lyle.

Rather than answer his question, though, Lyle calmly asked him, “why are you disrespecting me right now?”

Still fuming, Finkelstein replied, “I’m asking you a question!”

Lyle then responded by telling him that he was giving him an answer and Finkelstein asked him to reiterate it, which he then proceeded to do as the person filming ended the video.

Unsurprisingly, Finkelstein’s treatment of Lyle has left the student absolutely furious and ignited a massive backlash against liberal educators. “I am being discriminated against at my school because of my beliefs,” complained Lyle while speaking to reporters. “It’s a shame,” he added.

Disturbingly, this isn’t the only time that the two allegedly fought with one another. In fact, according to some of the other students in the class, including Smith, “Finkelstein’s class frequently devolves into lectures directed specifically at Lyle.”

To clarify, Smith stated, “He is basically just lecturing this one student for the whole period. We are sitting there and he is speaking directly to Chris, going back and forth about personal thoughts.”

Additionally, Finkelstein allegedly tells Lyle to “shut up” on a regular basis, has also reportedly criticized Lyle for owning a gun, and has also dismissed his opinions as “the reason America is not great.”

Following the heated exchange between Finkelstein and Lyle, a college official pulled Lyle out of class to purportedly ensure that he wasn’t going to hurt anyone since he’s a gun owner. Doing so understandably upset Lyle even more as it suggested that they were more worried about him being a gun owner than one of their professors yelling at him.

“It is in the best interest of all members of our community for the college to do its due diligence when a student or employee mentions firearms during the process of an investigation,” explained a college spokesperson in a recently released statement. “The matter concerning the student’s statements about firearms has been investigated and the incident is closed,” they added. On top of that, the college administrators are also investigating Finkelstein.

Since the incident took place, Lyle has since returned to class so that he can make sure his voice is heard. “I have to stand up for myself and my beliefs. I pay money to learn. I don’t pay money to get lectured on my beliefs,” he reasoned.

Unfortunately, Finkelstein isn’t the only professor who appears to have a major problem with conservative students.

Late last year, for example, Eric Canin, an anthropology professor at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), assaulted a conservative student during a campus demonstration. But despite engaging in such barbaric conduct, the punchy professor was only suspended for the summer, which is basically the academic equivalent of receiving a slap on the wrist.

Apparently, he was able to get off so easily largely because of a socialist group called “Students For Quality Education (SQE).” They’ve reportedly been working hard at CSUF to successfully push back against other students’ efforts to ensure that any professor who assaults a student is fired.

Sadly, Canin isn’t the only teacher recently filmed engaging in assault. Back in June 2017, Eric Clanton, a professor who used to teach at Diablo Valley College, was also reportedly caught on camera savagely bashing someone over the head with a bike lock.

As a consequence, he was arrested and charged with four counts of “felony assault” for causing great bodily injury. He also was charged with “wearing a mask during the commission of a crime,” which is a misdemeanor.

And prior to that, Yvonne “Yvette” Capistrano Felarca, a prominent far-left extremist known for organizing and advocating for militant protests, was captured on video engaging in assault as well.

Specifically, she was filmed repeatedly striking a member of the Traditional Worker’s Party (TWP), a far-right political group, at a political rally in Sacramento back in 2016. During the attack, she accused him a “Nazi” and chanted “get the f*** off our streets!”

Thankfully, it looks like Felarca, who teaches at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School for the Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD), will likely be held accountable for her actions. This is because she has since been taken into custody and charged with “assault by means of force likely to inflict great bodily injury, participating in a riot, and inciting a riot.”

Treating others unfairly for any reason must not be tolerated. Hopefully, Finkelstein will ultimately be held accountable for his conduct, and it will deter other professors from engaging in similar outbursts in the future.
