The Barack Obama cult of personality just got terrible news. While the mainstream media has been promoting the portrait that artist Kehinde Wiley made of the former president, recent investigations revealed that he previously portrayed the beheading of a white girl by a black woman in a 2012 painting called “Judith Beheading Holofernes.”
This so-called piece of art shows a black woman holding the cutoff head of a white woman in a re-imagining of a story from the book of Judith. Regarding this painting, Wiley previously told New York Magazine that his work was “sort of a play on the ‘kill whitey’ thing.”
The original story tells the tale of a young widow named Judith, who decided to save her people by seducing and eventually cutting off the head of Holofernes, who was an Assyrian general.
While it is a fact that several artists have re-imagined this tale, they usually feature a man and a woman. In this case, Wiley decided to portray Judith as a black woman who kills a white woman by cutting off her head.
Apparently, most of Wiley’s paintings envision black people at the forefront of historical events. In addition, to say that art provides the freedom to do whatever you want, Wiley justified this stance by claiming that the whole conversation of his work has to do with power and who has it.
Regarding the controversial painting, the Times said: “He redresses the absence of nonwhite faces in museum masterpieces, ‘using the power of images to remedy the historical invisibility of black men and women,’ as Eugenie Tsai, the curator of the Brooklyn Museum, observes in the accompanying catalog.”
According to an art critic known as thejonellaqueen, Wiley’s controversial painting places women of color, specifically a Black Woman, in a position of power and majesty.
In addition, the art critic pointed out that this is quite important because women of color have always suffered sexism and racism over the decades.
Naturally, instead of pointing out the implicit message that such a violent painting contains, this art critic decided to go for the abstract and provide the most ambiguous review.
As a matter of fact, instead of noticing how the victimhood narrative represents the cornerstone of this work, the art critic actually used it to make the analysis.
However, what seems to be the most important similarity in Wiley and the art critic is nothing more than the tragicomic reality of being ignorant without knowing it.
After all, of every single irony regarding Wiley’s works, the greatest one was the decision to honor Obama with the panting. We’re talking about the president who constantly fueled racial division in the United States to justify more federal control of local police.
As president, Barack Obama inserted himself into heated and unnecessary debates that did nothing more than exacerbate racial tensions in the United States.
Naturally, many analysts pointed out that these situations represented the new beginning of a problem that was already controlled.
After all, almost every single study points out that racial tensions were higher during the Obama administration when compared to the previous one.
However, while many agree that Obama is basically the one to blame, the mainstream media has tried to sell the idea that racial tensions increased just because he was an African-American and those who opposed him were a bunch of racist.
Lamentably, this narrative seems to ignore two important facts. On one hand, while identity politics wasn’t created by the Obama administration, his presidency took advantage of this sickening ideology to divide and polarize the American society.
After all, it is a fact that the endgame of this ideology is just to execute the classic political strategy of “divide and conquer.”
On the other hand, what the mainstream media always try to ignore is the fact that a huge percentage of people who voted for Obama in his two terms eventually voted for Donald Trump.
One of the greatest examples of how Obama exacerbated racial tensions was when he claimed that Trayvon Martin could have been his son. As everyone knows, Martin was shot by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, in a case that had nothing do with racism whatsoever.
In case you don’t remember, Obama is a member of the Trilateral Commission, which is characterized by its desire for greater control over U.S. policy.
Of course, the most efficient way to control Americans is to divide, polarize, and make them fight among themselves.
This is what former president Barack Obama tried to achieve by playing the racial card and the victimhood narrative every time he could.
And now, this is what the mainstream media, Wiley, and those who push for his cult of personality seem to forget.
