For celebrities and sports figures, offering any kind of comment about President Trump that doesn’t fit in the leftist narrative is almost some kind of sacrilege, given the fact that the pressure is so strong that many have decided not to get into politics at all.
In addition to Clint Eastwood and some other brave celebrities, those who have shown their support or at least a balanced comment about the president are known for having a long-time relationship with him.
While the most famous case is definitely New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, another NFL legend, and also one of the greatest players of all time, has decided to ignore the liberal pressure and act unchained. We’re talking about Payton Manning, who revealed he was invited to play golf with the president and a lot of people told him not to.
During an interesting appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Tuesday, the retired NFL legend said that it would be “un-American” for him to decline an invitation to play golf with the U.S. commander in chief, given the fact that this always represents a major honor.
However, in addition to this patriotic stance, Manning also revealed another important reason behind his golf outing with President Trump a month ago. He said he always remembered golf legend Arnold Palmer said one time that if the President of the United States ever asks you to play golf with him you have to do it.
Manning’s revelation earned a round of applause on the show, despite the fact Kimmel has consistently shown his stance against Trump. As a matter of fact, Manning told the public that he was included in the group of people who recommended not to go to the golf meeting with the President.
Manning offered a great message and said that no matter your political stance or your beliefs, it is a matter of patriotism to meet the president if he asks you to, considering that he represents the head of the American institutions.
Manning pointed out that he also played golf with former President George W. Bush, and that he wouldn’t have any issue to do it with Barack Obama and Bill Clinton if they asked him. Furthermore, the NFL legend told that playing golf with President Trump was a fantastic experience, not only because what it represents, but also because he assured Trump was a great host who really loves sports.
In a funny moment on the interview, Kimmel joked about whether the president cheats on the golf course in order to win, considering he’s well known for being a competitive golf player with great skills. Manning laughed and told Trump played it honest, pointing out that he usually gives a lot of putts, but he expects those “to be reciprocated.”
In addition to Manning, Trump has also played golf with four-time major champion Roy McIlroy at Trump International Florida on February. Like Manning, he assured that Trump’s skills in this sport are really great.
The president’s love for this sport started a lot of years ago, and far from being just a hobby, the president has some golf courses around the world. In fact, recent news informed he’s on his way to the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament at his club in New Jersey.
Apparently, LPGA players and amateurs at the club are talking about the tournaments strong security and whether the president will hand out the winning trophy himself, being a rumor that many believe it could be true.

Despite not having many Super Bowls rings as other legendary quarterbacks, many fans believe Manning has been the greatest of all time. One of the main reasons they point out is that Manning made Tennessee a national contender, which has been considered a miraculous achievement, given the fact that its rivalry with the Volunteers changed radically thanks to him.
Another important reason for many to believe he’s the greatest quarterback of all times was the unforgettable eighteen point comeback against Tom Brady’s Patriots, which represented a significant momentum that would carry over to the Colts to win their first Super Bowl title.
Manning’s records are also another important argument for those who assure he’s the best quarterback of all times, given the fact that he posses the honor of being the holder of most career touchdown passes and most passing yards in a season.
