As the N.F.L. unravels and even ticket powerhouse StubHub is offering 10% discounts on tickets for the foundering league, there is still at least one honest and honorable American football team. There shall be no keeling in Boston. The New England Patriots have made it clear that the only way that someone is taking a knee in Sunday’s game against the Panthers is to stop the clock or to claim a fair catch!
Countless fans were heartbroken to see so many players buying into the lie that blacks and whites are not treated equally and that the real American team was so dishonorable when some knelt. Well, CBS Boston has just reported that those shenanigans are coming to an end and “a new report indicates that they will all stand together as a team next time out.”
CSNNE’s Gary Tanguay on Tuesday confirmed the news and those few who have not already boycotted the league will have at least one team to stand behind without having to put their face in a bag to hide the shame of supporting Black Lives Matter and other divisive groups just to hear the word “HIKE!”
While N.E. quarterback and quasi-conservative Tom Brady and owner Robert Kraft took the disgraceful side of the kneeling players as they pandered for a faux cause, at least Brady did stand for the anthem though he also locked arms.
Sorry, Tom, we are still boycotting until it stops, but at least you didn’t let us down as much.
In today’s N.F.L, that seems to be as much as we can hope for.
Former New England tackle great, Matt Light, got it correct when he admitted that he was “ashamed” to be a Patriot, something that he never felt in his life.
If the players keep their word (and at this point, who trusts this motley lot of millionaire race baiters?), the ever decreasing number of people who are still watching will be quite pleased to see at least some semblance of common sense coming back into the game.
We can see it now, that half-empty stadium will be on their feet!
