It has been a few weeks since President Barak Obama blended male and female bathrooms. Now Washington public schools are beginning to add a brand new curriculum for classrooms nationwide. These students will learn how to forget what it means to be a female and male.
Public schools in Washington are expected to teach gender identity and expression to their students this year. Kindergarten and elementary students must make room in their notebooks for this brand new concept. This is quite disturbing news.
The Washington Office of the Superintendent for Public Instruction has recently shared the 2016 Health and Physical Education K-12 Learning Standards for kindergarten to 12th grade classrooms. According to Daily Caller, teachers will learn how to introduce the gender freedom, gender equality, expression, and sexual orientation to their scholars. The goal of this curriculum is to understand there are many ways to express gender.
Second Grade students will understand the variety of gender roles and expression. Students will then understand the importance of treating others with respect.
Third Grade teachers will be expected to teach that gender roles can vary. Teachers will need to teach the importance of treating everyone with respect no matter their gender identity.
Fourth Grade students will learn to understand how friends and family can influence ideas about gender roles, identity, and expression. These students will also to “define sexual orientation.”
Fifth Grade students will learn to describe how media, society, and culture can influence ideas regarding gender roles, identity, and expression. They will also learn how to identify trusted adults that can answer questions about gender identity and sexual orientation.
What has this country come to?
According to Breitbart news, classroom lessons will be reviewed by thousands of Washington educators, administrators, professionals, parents, and students. The definition of gender will be changed to “a social construct based on emotional, behavioral, and cultural characteristics attached to a person’s assigned biological sex.”
Also, gender will be recognized as “the way someone outwardly expresses their gender, whether consciously or unconsciously” while defining gender identity as “someone’s inner sense of their gender.”
Didn’t we just define the word ‘gender’ as fluid? Why are we still using old definitions to understand new terms? If you ask us, we give this rotten curriculum an F.
According to the Christian Post, Zach Freeman, Family Policy Institute of Washington’s director of communications, stated that the execution of this curriculum will be left up to individual schools. It is up to learning institutions whether or not to include the new curriculum. Freeman also warns us that this curriculum goes against the Biblical values many parents try to teach children. He also states,
“So, although they claim the examples could be as innocent as teaching a little girl that she can wear blue, the ambiguous nature of the outcome allows for much more rational teaching, that could easily determine the value that parents teach their children.”
Freeman ends by saying, “Currently, the state could teach a child 31 ways to express their gender and it would still fit within the constraints of the state learning standards. The infrastructure is in place for them to teach children whatever radical ideology they want, all before they wrap up middle school.”
It looks like we have a rough road ahead but we should not accept this news with sadness. Instead we must shout louder against new age ideas.
We must fight for our generation, children and the future generations.
