Many liberal hacks on MSNBC and CNN went into a rampage on Wednesday after President Donald Trump announced that he was pulling the security clearance for former CIA Director John Brennan. As noted by Fox News, the White House revealed that Brennan was having his security clearance pulled because he has a “has a history that calls his credibility into question.”
Immediately following the news, former Obama administration officials — many of which also work for or regularly appear on MSNBC and CNN — hopped on television and began their quest against Trump for pulling Brennan’s clearance. Brennan has been accused by many lawmakers of leaking classified information to MSNBC and CNN, two far-left networks that he often appears on to trash the president.
But these former officials are defending Brennan, claiming he’s a man of character.
During the White House press briefing on Wednesday, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also announced that nine other former or current U.S. government officials are having their security clearances reviewed too.
Here are the nine officials: former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper; former national security adviser Susan Rice; fired Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates; fired FBI official Peter Strzok; former FBI lawyer Lisa Page; fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe; fired FBI Director James Comey; former CIA Director Michael Hayden; and DOJ official Bruce Ohr.
Eight of those nine officials who are under review for their behavior and reported unethical comments served in the Obama administration.
After news broke of Brennan’s clearances being revoked, a handful of the aforementioned Obama officials and others went to bat for the former CIA director.

Former CIA/NSA Director Michael Hayden calls Trump's action against Brennan a threat. Tells CNN: “The White House just messaged the entire American Intelligence Community: if you stand up and say things that upset the President, or with which he disagrees, he will punish you.”

In the time I have known him, John Brennan has never been afraid to speak up and give it to you straight. Revoking his security clearance is an act unbecoming of a President. If you think it will silence John, then you just don't know the man.

This action is part of a broader effort by Mr. Trump to suppress freedom of speech & punish critics. It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about the cost of speaking out. My principles are worth far more than clearances. I will not relent. https://t.co/TNzOxhP9ux

Ex-DNI James Clapper, targeted by Trump, tells me these moves are “unprecedented” & jeopardizes his 1st Amendment rights. Watch: pic.twitter.com/8HvwJ77uDB

As many have pointed out, it’s not a coincidence that that eight former Obama officials are having their actions and comments reviewed regarding their security clearance. It’s also not an accident that MSNBC and CNN led the charge stacking their coverage with these same people to defend Brennan, who also regularly appears on the two left-leaning networks.
Looking beyond the media going into overdrive to defend Brennan, many would also agree that Brennan’s behavior warranted his clearance to be pulled.
Brennan admitted that he nearly failed his polygraph test in the 1990s to obtain a top security clearance because he initially lied when asked if he had ever supported a group that sought to destroy the United States. He once voted for a self-described communist candidate running on behalf of the Communist Party in the U.S.
He also played a big role in helping elevate the salacious Trump-Russia dossier, which triggered an FBI probe and the appointment of the special counsel.
Brennan has also been accused of leaking classified information to CNN, where he often makes appearances to attack Trump.
With all of this considered, many would agree that Trump had every right to pull his security clearance, as he was apparently abusing the privilege and weaponizing it to go after a sitting president.
