She’s been patient.
When Baron Trump was mocked in the media, First Lady Melania Trump was quiet. When Madonna joked about bombing the White House, Mrs. Trump was modestly polite and said nothing again. The Daily Caller has, however, reported that she did call the Secret Service after liberal actor Peter Fonda talked about kidnapping her son and subjecting him to ‘pedophile’ abuse in a cage. That was unspeakably sick and disgusting, even for a Hollywood liberal.
Even getting slighted by the Guggenheim Museum with a toilet offer did not concern the First Lady like Fonda did. On Monday, the brother of Barbarella angrily tweeted, “WE SHOULD RIP BARRON TRUMP FROM HIS MOTHER’S ARMS AND PUT HIM IN A CAGE WITH PEDOPHILES AND SEE IF MOTHER WILL [sic] WILL STAND UP AGAINST THE GIANT A**HOLE SHE IS MARRIED TO.”
Now, before anyone cries, “free speech,” there is a nuance here that must be noticed. It is hard to see at first, but crucial to the conversation. Had he written, “how would Mrs. Trump feel if Baron Trump was ripped from his mother’s arms, etc,” – no harm, no foul. Fonda, however, stated that “we should…,” which is vastly different.
While no one is foolish enough to think that Peter Fonda is going to scale the White House like Spiderman to get Baron Trump (or that he even meant it), saying “we should” as he did can be a call to action for those who are already not very stable.
That is why such talk is not protected by the First Amendment unless joking (which is what “JK” was invented for online).
Therefore, as any good mother would have done in her shoes, Mrs. Trump “notified” Secret Service of the posting.
“The tweet is sick and irresponsible and USSS has been notified,” declared the First Lady’s Spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham.
If this were even one outburst, it could be overlooked as a few drinks late a night talking, but that is not the case. Peter Fonda said of Department of Homeland Security Secretary, “Kristjen Nielsen is a lying gash that should be put in a cage and poked at by passersby. The gash should be pilloried in Lafayette Square naked and whipped by passersby while being filmed for posterity.”
If attacking two woman’s families online were not enough, Fonda ripped into Press Secretary Kristjen Nielsen by ranting, “SS (Sarah Sanders) is a lying gash, too. And “gash” is much worse than c*nt. Maybe we should take her children away and deport her to Arkansas, and giving her children to Stephen Goebbels Miller for safe keeping.” The fact that he typed “maybe” may have been the only thing that kept him out of handcuffs when that outburst of his was tweeted.
Much of this could be about promoting his new film, “Boundaries.” Some actors think that any press is good press and preaching to the left, Trump-hating choir is often good for a few award appearances, after all.
However, this call to action went beyond what is acceptable. What if a conservative had said that Obama’s daughters? He or she would be in prison, no doubt about it.
However, to call for a child to be sodomized and kidnapped is a major crime. Hopefully, Fonda will be prosecuted.
