Over the last few years, Germany has become the greatest example of what could happen if a nation takes liberal policies to deal with the refugee crisis and mass migrations. Yesterday, a new report claimed that migrant youth gangs in the Ebertplatz area of Cologne are becoming extremely violent, leading some to say this is turning into a no-go zone. Surprisingly, this situation forced the mayor to admit this place is now a “criminal hotspot.”

However, he said the problems that this area is experiencing are impossible to be solved only by the police.  It was surprising admission considering that he’s part of the left-wing Green party, which has been characterized for embracing the policy of open borders.

According to authorities in the Ebertplatz area, young migrants from Africa and the Middle East have turned the place into a no-go zone once the sun goes down. Over just the past nine months, local police have been involved in almost 3,500 incidents in the area. These cases ranged from a simple stop and search to the murder of a 22-year-old African migrant last Saturday evening.

According to the spokesman for a local citizen´s association called Ruth Wennemar, she and many other woman decided to avoid this area altogether. She explained this has already become a no-go zone where boys drink hard alcohol from noon. Also, she said that Africans dominate the square in the evening from 8 pm, heavily smoking marijuana.

Apparently, authorities arrested three men linked to the murder saying they were all part of the local drug scene. Police officials in the country have previously warned that in several areas of Germany, illegal migrants and asylum seekers have started to take over the drug trade. Naturally, we’re talking about a lucrative business where the use of violence to achieve certain goals is quite common. Authorities explained this is exactly what is taking place in these areas.

According to some analysis, one of the main reasons this area has become so popular for drug dealing is its design. This one allows criminals to come and go through tunnels and passageways and avoid authorities. Basically, it is the perfect location for criminal activities.

Police said the square is designed at such angles that even on the ground officers cannot overlook the whole area. Of course, this means that acts of violence and drug trafficking are not detected and prevented in a timely manner.

This delicate situation could easily become a major issue in the next months if authorities don’t take strong actions. However, it is extremely difficult for them to operate properly considering the political backlash they will receive if they decide to do what needs to be done. After all, we’re talking about a country where the left wing is extremely powerful, to the point where its politicians always come out with the race card.

While authorities are called into the area every day and have carried out over 3,000 separate actions in the area, only 19 individuals have been arrested and prosecuted for crimes.

She assured this situation goes well into the night when it is almost impossible to go near the area.

These terrible scenes are similar to reports in Paris where migrants in some neighborhoods harass women on the street and refuse to let them into certain cafes. Lamentably, these kinds of situations also happen in some cities of Sweden.

Last year, Chancellor Angela Merkel was warned she could face a lawless society in the country if she didn’t tackle the rise of no-go zones. Police Union chief Rainer Wendt claimed that they were unable to enforce the law because of the rise of these areas, caused as a result of mass immigration. The police chief assured the no-go zones could end up being ruled by criminal laws or even Sharia law.

While some police officers have denied the existence of these areas, Chief Commissioner of Criminal Investigation Ralf Feldmann said this situation was quite real. In fact, he claimed some members of the Kurdish-Lebanese community told him that authorities wouldn’t win this fight because they are too many.

According to a report by US think-tank Gatestone Institute, as many as 40 places were considered no-go zones in confidential police reports. While this is a very delicate situation, experts believe this problem will definitely increase in the midterm, to the point where crime statistics will dramatically increase.
