In a case that has many people furious and demanding the court be held responsible, a New Mexico man, who was arrested twice for raping two children, was released on bail twice in the same week, by the same judge.
What makes the case so horrifying is that the second time he was released, the monster proceeded to find a five-year-old and subject her to his perverted desires.
Raymond Hernandez, 29, allegedly raped her and beat her friend after giving them alcohol. The judge apparently ordered him to wear a GPS ankle monitor.
Then, two days after that hearing, he allegedly raped a 19-month-old toddler who was living in the same house.
So, the judge let him out, allowed him to go back to the house where his first victim lived, where he decided to ravage a baby.
Hernandez is apparently a depraved ogre. A few days later, he saw the five-year-old girl living next door, and raped her.
Many people think that the parents of the second and last victims should be able to sue the judge who so wantonly disregarded public safety and allowed an accused child rapist to repeat the crimes… not once, but twice.
After violating the five-year-old, Hernandez took off. He was captured in Colorado on Sunday night.
“I’m speechless, he needs to pay and I hope the judge puts him behind bars and keeps him there,” neighbor Gloria Lucero told KOB4 TV.
The district attorney is trying to secure an indictment this week before Hernandez sees a judge again on Thursday. Given the previous leniency provided by Ortega, this seems necessary.
Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe told reporters he suspects Hernandez has even more victims that are unknown to authorities, and is urging the public to come forward with any information about this pervert, by contacting the Taos County Sheriff’s Department at (575) 737-6480.
Many people wonder about Ortega’s lack of empathy with the victims in the case, and speculate about his own personal tastes. Why else would any sane, thinking person allow such an animal to walk free and find more victims, especially given that he was arrested twice in the same week.
Anyone with half a brain would have denied bail to a monster who raped a toddler a few days after raping a 13-year-old.
The entire case is disgusting and many people hope that Ortega faces disciplinary actions, as well as a civil lawsuit by the victims’ parents.
