The liberal mainstream media not only works as the most powerful publicity department of the Democratic Party but also as its most reliable ally. The clearest example of this disgusting reality has been quite obvious over the last few hours, as networks CNN and MSNBC refused to give any on-air coverage to Corrine Brown’s sentencing for tax fraud.
The former Democratic Congresswoman, a 12-term representative from Florida, was convicted of 18 crimes. These ranged from conspiracy to fraud for pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars that was originally meant to go to a children’s charity.
Naturally, we’re talking about one of the most disgusting crimes a politician can make considering the implications of such a disgusting act. However, none of these networks have provided any kind of coverage regarding this horrible case.
As experts point out, even when CNN and MSNBC decide to spend certain time on this topic, their mission of reducing damage is already accomplished. After all, these kinds of news have a different effect on the audience if it´s covered with a certain delay. Of course, this is the main reason why the mainstream media are not quick to provide their reports on damaging cases regarding the Democratic Party or a member.
Brown got sentenced by a judge to five years in federal prison yesterday. However, according to a search of television database TVEyes, MSNBC and CNN have been mum on the air. Naturally, this is quite incredible not only because of the fact this was a huge bombshell but also because we’re talking about two of the major three cable networks.
Believe it or not, in addition to zero television coverage, CNN also doesn’t have a single piece about Brown’s sentencing on their website. Of course, the funniest thing about this whole display of media bias is that this network always glorifies itself of being the most neutral one in the United States.
On its part, the extent of MSNBC’s coverage was nothing more than a brief mention in Monday’s Mini-Report on the Rachel Maddow Blog. The corruption story was only the final bullet point in the blog. Believe it or not, it consisted only of a quote and link to a Roll Call story. Basically, protecting the image of the Democratic Party is the goal to achieve, no matter if these networks make a fool of themselves.
While CNN and MSNBC refused to cover this story, Fox News, POLITICO, The New York Times, The Hill and The Washington Post have all had at least one article. In fact, Fox News decided to cover the story live on air, providing every single detail about it.
As reported in a previous article, the jury convicted the former Congresswoman of stealing money from a fake charity called One Door For Education. This “charity” was supposed to give a scholarship to children who could not afford school. However, Brown used the donations to purchase expensive items and even go on trips. Believe it or not, this Democrat also used some of the money to host wild parties.
Knowing she was facing life in prison, Brown was seen praying with a group of liberal supporters before her hearing. In fact, many thought that even when the accusations were proved, she would manage to avoid prison. Fortunately, while her attorney was pleading for a probation deal in order to avoid the jail time, the judge slapped her with five years behind bars.
Even when this was one of the most scandalous cases in the last few years of U.S. politics, MSNBC and CNN decided not to cover it properly. Lamentably, the stance of this last network shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, CNN also gave barebones coverage to Democratic New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, who was on trial this fall also for corruption cases.
For those unfamiliar with what Cameron is talking about: The sentencing of Corrine Brown has been noticeably absent from CNN's reporting… https://t.co/Qt8WqkqAlF

Lamentably, this was another case where CNN proved to be an efficient ally for the Democratic Party. In fact, previous reports pointed out that this network revealed its most hypocritical face, considering they found plenty of time for a similar case back in 2008. Naturally, it was a Republican the one who was in hot water back then.
According to the Media Research Center, this network covered the trial of Senator Ted Stevens heavily, rarely missing a single day of coverage. In fact, CNN got to the point of updating viewers on the progress of this trial several times a day.
