One of the talking points of this election has been how the Clinton family has managed to get so wealthy. Hillary Clinton once said that they were “dead broke” when they were leaving the White House back in 2001.
And yet, they somehow have millions and millions of dollars to their name. So the biggest question is this: How in the world did the Clintons go from being “dead broke” to being rich?
The answer has just been revealed. The newest WikiLeaks release of Hillary’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, reveals how one of Bill Clinton’s closest friends helped gain at least $50 million in speaking fees and other activities. That was in addition to raising “the bulk” of funds for the Clinton Foundation.
It also makes you wonder if President Obama had any role in this, considering that he seemed to be involved with the Clinton Foundation as well. And President Obama knew about several incidents that deal with the Clinton Foundation and the Clintons. So it could be speculated that he was a part of the reason that money was given to the former president.
The twelve-page memo from Doug Band was designed to highlight the role that he and Teneo, his own global strategy company, played in getting money for the former president. In addition to getting the former president money, they were also responsible for getting the Clinton Foundation money.
“Throughout the past almost 11 years since President Clinton left office, I have sought to leverage my activities, including my partner role at Teneo, to support and to raise funds for the Foundation. This memorandum strives to set forth how I have endeavored to support the Clinton Foundation and President Clinton personally.”
They had a section that was entitled “For-Profit Activity of President Clinton (i.e., Bill Clinton, Inc.).” Aside from the horrible name, it details how Clinton got so wealthy. Band wrote that he and another Clinton aide by the name of Justin Cooper “found, developed and brought” to Clinton all four of his advisory arrangements at the current time.
Those four arrangements “yielded more than $30 million for him personally, with $66 million to be paid out over the next nine years should he choose to continue with the current engagements.” There was a footnote at the bottom that explained how Clinton’s speaking agent estimated that during a 10-year period, “$20 million in speeches for the President have derived… from Justin and my efforts.”
Band and Cooper were the ones that helped make Clinton wealthy. They “solicited and obtained… in-kind services … for personal travel, hospitality, vacation and the like.” And they did this at no extra charge. “Neither Justin nor I are separately compensated for these activities.”
This just sheds more light on the former president’s hefty post-White House speaking fees. It shows how his inner circle had arranged these appearances and other deals. And considering the fact that much has been discussed on how the Clinton’s became wealthy, this is a welcome sight.
Teneo was established in June of 2011 to solicit the company’s clients to donate to the Foundation. That roster of contributors included The Coca-Cola Company giving $4.33 million over a period of six years and Barclays Capital paying $1.1 million over four years.
The memo never identifies all four advisory roles that Clinton held at the time. What it does note is that Laureate International Universities paid Clinton $3.5 million per year “to provide advice and serve as their Honorary Chairman.” Clinton’s relationship with that university had been previously discussed.
This memo was sent on November 16, to Bill and several Foundation board members. Some of the members included were Chelsea Clinton, then-special adviser John Podesta and two lawyers that were involved in an internal audit of the Foundation. That was set up to cancel out any potential conflicts of interest.
But what was most interesting about the time that Band wrote the email, the Foundation was trying to clearly delineate Band and Clinton’s roles at the Foundation and at Teneo. Clinton was initially asked to be an adviser at Teneo.
It took some time but Band’s official relationship with the Foundation was torn. Except for the fact that he remained an adviser to Clinton. Clinton then stepped back from his adviser role at Teneo, but became a client of the company.
But this is important because it shows how Clinton got some of the money that has made them wealthier than ever before. Thanks to WikiLeaks, we now have an insight on to who gave Bill Clinton all that money. There is still speculation that President Obama had some hand in this. Considering that this email was sent in 2011, it was right at the end of the first term of President Obama.
This all deals with people in the Clinton Foundation. That Foundation has a history of being corrupt. After all there was another leak that showed that the constant corruption in the Foundation drove one of their leaders to the point of SUICIDE. The leader was hiding all of the corruption in the Foundation and eventually couldn’t take it anymore. There has to be a lot of corruption involved to make someone want to kill themselves over it.
But that isn’t the only thing that the Clinton Foundation has done. The Clinton Foundation also appeared to have an insider in the Clinton Foundation. That insider was FBI Director James Comey. That would be the very person that was in charge of the Clinton emails scandal. He was someone that was involved with it from the very beginning! He had no intention of ever charging Clinton for her terrible decision making.
Share this article to show people how Bill Clinton made his money. It was due to people like Doug Band and Justin Cooper making deals that got the former president the money that he wanted. They managed to get the former president over $50 million in speaking fees. Not only that but they were also responsible for raising funds for the Clinton Foundation.
This is just another reason that we need to have Donald Trump in office. The Clinton’s are nothing but corrupt individuals who have the transparency of a dirty window. If Hillary gets back into the White House then we are going to see more of the same.
