Judicial Watch Sues For FBI Records, Comey’s $2 Million Book Deal Involved

The watchdog group is looking to expose Comey for breaking the law.

Judicial Watch is suing for all records related to James Comey.

Judicial Watch is suing the Justice Department to obtain all records from the FBI connected to former Director James Comey’s $2 million book deal.

In their Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the DOJ, the government watchdog believes Comey shouldn’t have “protected status” because he has admitted to leaking classified information.

Comey was given a $2 million advance for his book, titled, “Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” which will be published on April 17th.

Former federal employees are required to submit the entire transcript for pre-publication review to the DOJ to ensure no classified information was referenced or revealed.

Judicial Watch wants access to the pre-publication review documents, but the DOJ is refusing to hand them over.

According to Judicial Watch, they are seeking the following:

  • “All records of communications between the FBI and Comey prior to and regarding Comey’s testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on June 8, 2017.”
  • “All records of communications between the FBI and Comey relating to an upcoming book to be authored by Comey and published.”
  • “All records, including but not limited to forms completed by Comey, relating to the requirement for prepublication review by the FBI of any book to be authored by Comey with the intent to be published or otherwise publicly available.”

Comey was officially fired on May 9, 2017, after President Donald Trump determined his handling of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email probe proved he was too incompetent to lead the bureau.

He completely let her off the hook.

Shortly after that, Comey testified before Senate Select Committee investigators to discuss a range of issues, including the circumstances surrounding his termination.

Comey admitted under oath that he leaked his classified “memos” detailing private conversations he had with Trump at the White House to a friend. That friend then gave the classified memos to The New York Times, which were subsequently published by the paper.

Comey admitted this under oath, which is a felony. The former FBI head also admitted he leaked the memos to trigger the Russia investigation that led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.

He should be charged criminally for admitting he broke the law. And he’s definitely the last person on the planet who should be teaching about loyalty, truth, and leadership.

He betrayed his country to attack Trump and now he is being rewarded a major book deal rather.
