Judicial Watch Files Complaint Against Schiff, Speier For Disclosing Classified Information

Watchdog says top Democrats broke the law.

A Watchdog group says top Democrats broke the law.

Judicial Watch filed a complaint with the House Office of Congressional Ethics and is calling for an investigation into whether top Democrats leaked classified information to the liberal media regarding the Russia investigation.

The government watchdog group said it has evidence that California Democrat Reps. Adam Schiff and Jackie Speier “disclosed classified information to the public in violation of House ethics rules.”

Schiff led a witch hunt against House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes last year and accused him of leaking classified information, but it backfired when the ethics committee revealed the Republican did nothing wrong.

Now Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton is coming for the top Democrats, and he says he has substantial evidence proving both Schiff and Speier leaked classified information to media outlets to fuel their Trump-Russia conspiracy theories.

On March 21, 2017, Schiff spoke extensively at a Brookings Institution event about the transcripts of a phone call that occurred in late December between Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislayak and retired U.S. Army General Michael Flynn.

Schiff leaked the contents of the classified transcripts to the media in an attempt to claim collusion occurred.

Interestingly enough, we learned earlier this week that the FBI told Congress that Flynn never lied or broke the law when he spoke with Kislayak, which contrasted what Schiff was telling the media.

Judicial Watch also asserts Speier spoke publicly about the Kislayak-Flynn conversations in April 2017.

Here’s what Speier said (emphasis added):

“Now, if in fact, it was unmasked and if it was General Flynn.  You have to understand the context in which it was unmasked. We do know that. Ambassador Kislayak and General Flynn were freelancing sanctions relief at the end of December, when he had no portfolio in which to make any kind of negotiations with Ambassador Kislayak.”

Speier told the media “we do know that” Flynn was unmasked by former President Barack Obama’s intelligence community, which was likely through the spy warrant the FBI obtained from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

The FBI was spying on former Trump adviser Carter Page, but it is likely the also picked up phone calls from Flynn. It would be illegal to do so given the warrant, as far as we know, didn’t list Flynn.

More importantly, Speier confirming Flynn was unmasked and spied on would not only mean she disclosed classified information, but also that the Obama administration violated the law to illegally spy on Flynn without a warrant.

The American people are sick and tired of seeing Obama officials get away with all of this corruption.

Fitton said he is working to ensure corrupt actors like Schiff and Speier are held accountable for their actions.
