The GOP memo exposed how senior officials at the FBI, Justice Department and State Department were actively involved with the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.
The dossier was a major aspect of the FBI’s application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain a warrant to spy on President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Steele was hired by Fusion GPS to commission the anti-Trump hit piece.
The FBI also failed to inform the FISA Court that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid Fusion GPS roughly $9.6 million to fund Steele’s operation.
In early 2016, Clinton ally, Jonathan Winer met with Steele in London to review the dossier. Winer returned with memos and copies of the dossier and handed them over to Kerry — who was leading the Department of State.
Kerry then handed the documents over to Obama-Clinton confidants at the FBI and DOJ.
This corruption scheme laid the foundation for the Russia probe and sparked the Russia investigation against Trump.
Kerry officially being placed under investigation confirms corruption is seething at the highest levels of the Obama administration.
