Jim Acosta Blasts Prison Reform Talk As ‘Lack Of Seriousness’

He obviously thinks that his opinion matters.

Does he even know what he is complaining about?

Ah, the hypocrisy of the modern left and CNN. It is no secret that President Obama had Jay-Z and tons of other so-called artists of the hip-hop genre visiting him while in office on a regular basis. The White House was a red carpet who’s who of Hollywood, yet now that Mr. Trump is in office, “CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Wednesday railed against Kim Kardashian West,” according to the Business Insider.

Even though the wife of Kanye West arrived without her press trail (a nuance that proves her genuine desire for more than a photo shoot) and without her show crew to talk about prison reform, CNN mocked her because she stands with Mr. Trump and not against him.

Acosta was already ranting against Mr. Donald Trump because he tweeted about the firing of Rosanne Barr, a sign that the president was “not serious” in the anchor’s mind. “It just gets to the lack of seriousness,” said the CNN host, as if all of America is hanging on his every word. He is actually coming out against Ms. Kardashian for wanting prison reform, a leftist cause for years.

Forget about the fact that Kim Kardashian is here at the White House today and what planet that is anything resembling normal, because it’s not,” Acosta complained. “She shouldn’t be here talking about prison reform. It’s very nice that she is here, but that’s not a serious thing to have happened here at the White House.

While it is true that Kardashian is pretty much famous for being famous, to dispel what seems to be an authentic desire to help those in prison become normal citizens is both cruel and baseless. One of her requests is that “Alice Marie Johnson, a 62-year-old low-level drug offender serving a life sentence without parole” for her first offense be freed from prison.

The reality star who once “broke the internet” with images of her behind would be praised for such a stance if she were a liberal. She is, after all, coming before a Republican anti-drug president and respectfully using her fame to achieve something dear to her. How bleeding heart can it get?

Still, she is attacked.

Just the same, she met with Jared Kushner and Mr. Trump even appeared with her in the tweet image which angered Acosta. In his world, the president is not supposed to have any friends, time away from all out “seriousness,” or even to associate with others in the reality tv scene of which Trump was himself a member. It would be like asking Mr. Obama to not associate with anyone from Hawaii!

Meanwhile, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has proven to a hurdle for the 4th Amendment and the kinds of reforms that Mrs. West seeks. Then again, Donald Trump has not been all that keen on Sessions as of late.

So, anything is possible.

If those getting out of prison have more chances to succeed, a lot of them won’t re-offend. Once the whole matter is actually looked at (instead of looking at Kim), it is hard to find fault which what she is trying to do.

That is unless one works for CNN.
