Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan went to the media outlets to tell the latest news regarding his sensitive duty. Far from telling what everyone knows, he actually revealed some bombshell details about illegal immigrants and the difference between the Obama administration and Trump’s on this issue.
According to the Daily Caller Homan told that he is not sure about the exact number of illegal aliens in the country, which could create a major hit to the previous numbers that estimated around 11 million.
The ICE Director revealed that while this represents the steady number, it could actually be higher than 12 million, meaning that the immigration problem in America could be worse than expected for an agency who’s mission on this particular issue has been hampered by the previous administration.
When asked if the government should take a serious look into what that figure actually is, Homan told that more information is always beneficial and that he’s going to support anyone who wants to take a deep look into the cold statistics.
Nevertheless, Homan assured that no matter how many illegal immigrants are in the country, President Trump’s executive orders will be fully enforced by the agency. These orders have put every illegal alien up for deportation, except those covered by Obama’s amnesty for illegal aliens who arrived as minors to America.
Recently, Homan was brutally criticized by the Democrats and the mainstream media after saying during a White House press briefing that no illegal immigrant should be comfortable in the country since the agency will enforce the law. However, far from changing the tune, the ICE Director reiterated that same message during his interview with the Daily Caller.
Homan said that if you enter the country illegally that means you have committed a crime and the law will be enforced without any kind of apology. This way, the ICE Director was taking the offensive with his words, which sent a clear message that evidenced the colossal change that Trump administration meant to this agency.
When asked about the MS-13 crime organization also known as the Mara Salvatrucha, Homan delivered a stern message that showed his clear disposition to do whatever it takes in order to stop their criminal acts in the United States.
In the Daily Caller interview, Homan said that “my gang is bigger than theirs” and assured he’s going to take them out for good, adding that the main goal is to be as efficient as possible on President Trump’s promise to arrest and deport the gang members.
Homan described the MS-13 as a “criminal syndicate” that has spread to more than 40 states in the country, making a lot of money on drugs, illegal firearms, prostitution and sex trafficking. He also explained that victimizing the communities they live in have become a part of its violent modus operandi.
The MS-13 has its leadership in El Salvador and recruits from the immigrant community in America. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has previously pegged the number of members at 10,000 spread across the U.S. and 30,000 in El Salvador.
Regarding the main difference between the Obama administration and Trump’s on illegal immigration, Homan told to Neil Cavuto on Fox News that the Republican President told him that he can now do his job freely without interference and that he will enforce laws on his books.
Homan said there’s no population of illegal immigrants that’s off the table anymore, noting that any alien who pose a threat to public safety will be always the top priority. ICE Director made the same statement to the Daily Caller, assuring that what Trump did with the executive orders was to take the handcuffs off of officers, letting them to enforce the laws enacted by Congress, which was almost impossible during the Obama era.

So far, the Trump administration has arrested at least 66,000 individuals suspected or known of being in America illegally. During a 2016 event, ICE Director told that the U.S. could potentially report more than 400,000 illegal aliens each year. Homan said that the number could increase if the backlog in immigration courts could finally be addressed.
When asked about the controversial Breitbart article that noted he was responsible for the release of thousands of criminal illegal aliens during his time in the Obama administration, Homan responded that the numbers of individuals released because of ICE officials’ discretion fell from 21,796 in fiscal year 2013 to 5,740 in fiscal year 2016.
Homan added that he wasn’t happy at all with these numbers, but he has his “hands tied” because of court decisions and certain statutes.
