When facts overwhelm opinion, those with the most to lose by having backed the incorrect view can not just pretend that they were never wrong and still save face. Instead, they slowly back away from the statement like a mongoose stepping back from a cobra, not like a child running from a bee. This can be seen as even the far left-leaning news outlet Politico ran today with a headline that said, “Pelosi moves to muzzle Trump impeachment talk.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been talking about impeachment, it seems, since the creation of the sun. She, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and the always angry Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) were armed with supposed inside knowledge and President Trump was going to be taken down, they boasted. Now Pelosi has a new strategy for 2018 since her old one crashed and burned.
MSNBC asked the often confused Leader who (once said that no one should “cry wolf in a crowded theater“) about the ad from Tom Steyer that called for Mr. Trump to be impeached. After saying “That’s a great ad” no less than twice, she changed the topic to that of the “Better Deal” being peddled by Democrats.
Behind the scenes, Pelosi was not so easy going about the Steyer stunt, calling the $10 million dollar ad a “distraction.”
If that is true, then she has been doing nothing but pushing a “distraction,” by her own words no less, since the day that Trump took office!
Now Politico writes that she seeks to show how Democrats can lead when Trump can not (yawn) and that the party now needs “no drama.” That is like North Korea calling for no tension. Democrats have manufactured nothing but drama since Hillary Clinton lost the election.
Politico writes that the California liberal is wanting “to avoid talk of impeachment and resist taking Trump’s bait” when it comes to his tweets.
In other words, the whole Russian narrative if falling apart faster than Clinton’s New York mayoral run did and there is nowhere to hide from it if impeachment is talked about.
“There’s nothing any of us can say in Congress that is going to change people’s view of Donald Trump,” admitted Representative Ro Khanna. Notice that if they had facts about the president cheating with Putin, then it would sway a lot of voters. What they say, however, won’t. This was just admitted by a freshman Democrat who may have seen the light if his party is overcome this loss.
For Pelosi who once said that “the proof is in the Putin,” this whole idea of impeachment is all but over and she looks more foolish than ever. Let’s face it, for her, that is quite an accomplishment.
