House Enraged, Career Representative Connected To CNN “Must No Longer Serve”

December 7 is historically “infamous” for treachery. Exactly 76 years from the day Japan made their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Donald Trump Jr. was likewise bushwhacked on a closed-hearing witness stand. At least one liberal mole, inside the House Intelligence Committee, started leaking play-by-play “sensitive information” to the press, making House lawmakers furious.

During the second day of “confidential” questioning, “as the committee’s eight-hour interview of Donald Trump, Jr. was still underway, information from this closed session of the committee was clearly being leaked to the press,” three members of Congress wrote. “This is evidenced in multiple tweets and online articles that contained privileged information that only members or staff present for the interview would have been privy to.”

The committee’s top Democrat is about to be yanked from the investigation for not keeping his mouth shut. “As I understand it, this particular conversation for which they were claiming privilege took place after the emails became public, and, was therefore focused more on the reaction to the publication of the emails,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) leaked to CNN. Schiff added his personally slanted opinion that you can’t “shield communications between individuals merely by having an attorney present.” Talking to the press about Trump Jr.’s testimony was definitely forbidden.

“Members or staff who may have violated rules by leaking sensitive information to the press or other outside entities must be promptly removed from this investigation and proper inquiries undertaken without delay.” John Radcliffe (R-Texas), Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) and Mia Love (R-Utah) wrote.

The committee’s top Democrat to be yanked from the investigation for not keeping his mouth shut.

“These serious violations need to be investigated and any members responsible for such violations must no longer serve as part of this investigation. Any staff who have violated committee or House rules must also face appropriate disciplinary action.” They also add, “your immediate attention to this matter is needed to ensure that the credibility of this body is not at risk as it undertakes investigations and handles sensitive issues of importance to the United States.”

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), each party’s congressional leader, got copies of the scathing letter emphasizing that the committee’s integrity is at stake. Repeatedly calling the leaks a “serious violation of committee and House rules,” the hard evidence already available to the public requires a high priority response. “Significant evidence that serious leaks have occurred… must be immediately addressed. The integrity of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is of critical importance to the whole House and to the nation we are all tasked with serving.”

According to the letter, “Under committee and House rules, the details of this non-public interview were not to be released publicly unless the committee voted to do so.” They didn’t. Even if they did, “the rules still allow for a witness and his or her counsel to review the transcript before public release.”

Trump Jr. “had received assurances that the interview “would be kept strictly confidential.

Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) was on the receiving end of a separate letter from Alan Futerfas, Trump, Jr.’s attorney. Conaway leads the ongoing Russian interference probe the committee is tasked with. After stating for the record that Trump Jr. “had received assurances that the interview “would be kept strictly confidential and not discussed publicly unless and until the full committee voted to release the transcript,” Futerfas accused the committee of “selectively leaking information provided during the interview to various press outlets, most notably CNN.”

As evidence of the leaks, Futerfas listed “tweets from CNN reporter Manu Raju and a story that came out during the meeting,” referring to the remarks made by Schiff. Two other Democrats, Reps. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), also took to the airwaves in “an attempt to discredit” the witness.

One of the leaks reported by CNN touted some apparently scandalous information if it were true. The leak appears to have come from a staffer assigned to the committee. CNN rushed to report that Trump Jr. got an email concerning stolen DNC documents on Sept. 4, 2016. Then they found out the rat gave them a bogus date. The email really came in ten days later, a day after the subject matter became public knowledge.

Immediate attention to this matter is needed to ensure that the credibility of this body is not at risk.

Futerfas was particularly upset about the leaks that were happening live from the hearing, especially because “he and Trump Jr. were unaware of the leaks because they were required to surrender their cell phones prior to the closed-door proceedings.”

Ronna McDaniel, the Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), is also demanding that the leaks get plugged. “Leaks out of House Intel Committee’s Russia investigation must stop. Congress should investigate and find the those responsible,” she posted on Twitter.
