In what many people recognize as both a frivolous and ludicrous use of time, House democrats plan to hold hearings about President Trump’s criticism of the mainstream media, and specifically his use of the term ‘fake news.’
The reason for the so-called investigations?
To find out whether it blurs the ‘separation of powers.’
Seriously. In a thriving economy, peaceful global relations, and generally a “Great” America, House democrats have nothing better to do than investigate accurate claims about fake news?
Not only that, but by holding such ‘hearings’ it looks as if Congress is trying to control the president’s First Amendment right.
Of course, the fact that the government powers DO NOT extend to private news outlets doesn’t seem to bother the intellectually challenged Jerrold Nader, current leader of the House Judiciary Committee.
The committee’s report states, “The committee will study whether such actions either reflect or blur the Constitution’s separation of powers.”
The actions they’re talking about? President Trump’s correct use of the term “fake news” and “enemies of the people.”
Democrats think people are either too stupid to recognize the ploy, or they are just uneducated enough to buy it.
Forget the fact that there are countless examples of such fake news.
Forget the fact that President Trump has been the target of unscrupulous and slanderous false reports.
Forget the fact that the leftist mainstream media promotes a propaganda-style agenda without ceasing.
Forget the fact that the news is NOT a part of the government.
Those facts don’t matter to democrats.
“Possible 2020 hopeful and media darling Beto O’Rourke used the line to attack Trump and Republicans in 2018, accusing him of inciting violence against the media.”
“This idea fronted by the president that somehow the press are the enemy of the people, reinforced by him tweeting out images of a reporter being hit by a train, body slammed in a wrestling ring, it is incitement to violence. I don’t know any other way to call it,” O’Rourke said.
The president, however, has accurately gauged the situation.
“A lot of reporters are creating violence by not writing the truth,” he said. “The fake news is creating violence. And you know what? The people that support Trump, and the people the support us, which is a lot of people, most people, those people know when a story is true, and they know when a story is false.”
“I’ll tell you what–if the media would write correctly, and write accurately, and write fairly, you’d have a lot less violence in the country,” he added.
Instances of violence can easily be seen in the Covington student fake news and countless other instances of unstable liberals (the Bernie supporter congressional shooter) becoming enraged by irresponsible reporting.
And, the media slander is nothing new.
In 1828, “Sign of the Times” reported:
“It will not, we believe, be contradicted, that the Adams presses generally professing to belong to the old federal party, and of course, to good society have, in the present contest, lost sight of every decent regard for public reputation and private feelings. The man, who, as Mr. Jefferson said, has filled the measure of his countrys glory, has been the object of their unceasing and most slanderous attacks. He who achieved the greatest victory in modern times, and shed a lustre on the arms of his country has been called a murderer, a swindler, an adulterer and a traitor, because the people have selected him as their Candidate for President.”
The report continues with: “Not content with such vile falsehoods, their despair has driven them to greater extremities. In Charles Hammonds paper, a bosom friend of Clay, we find the following horrid and gross attack: General Jacksons mother was a COMMON PROSTITUTE, brought to this country by the British soldiers! She afterwards married a MULATTO MAN, with whom she had several children, of which number General JACKSON IS ONE!!!”
The fact that democrats think the American public is this stupid, sickens most people.
