Earlier this month, Miguel “Timido” Angel Lopez-Abrego, a 19-year-old undocumented alien and member of the extremely violent “MS-13” gang, was arrested and charged with “first-degree murder” for his alleged involvement in a gruesome gang-related murder. Specifically, he’s accused of participating in the killing of an unidentified man who was recently found buried deep in the woods of Wheaton, Maryland.
In court documents, investigators provided additional details about the disturbing attack, which had been planned for several weeks. Apparently, one member of the gang acted as a lookout and “waited near the edge of the wood line with a handheld, walkie-talkie radio.”
The victim was then lured to a nearby park. Upon arriving at the park, the lookout used the radio and notified the other gang members of his presence.
They then swarmed the unsuspecting man and stabbed him over one hundred times. Authorities believe that Lopez-Abrego, who was armed with a 15-inch knife, initiated the attack.
In addition to being stabbed, the victim was also decapitated and dismembered. On top of that, he also reportedly had his heart “excised from his chest.”
After killing him, they then brought his remains deep into the woods and buried them. Several months later, law enforcement officials received a tip from an informant regarding the whereabouts of the grave. They then conducted a search of the area and found the remains. As of now, the motive for the killing is currently unknown.
According to reports, at the time of his death, the victim was wearing a “gray sweatshirt with the words, ‘First United Methodist Church Laurel’ written on the left chest of the sweatshirt…a gray hooded long-sleeve shirt underneath with black sweatpants, and blue athletic shorts underneath with the number ‘19’ printed on the left side.” Investigators also noted that he had a rosary necklace around his neck, which suggests that he was a very religious person.
Shortly after Lopez-Abrego was arrested, officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that he had been living in the country illegally. “Miguel Angel Lopez-Abrego, a citizen and national of El Salvador, is illegally in the U.S. and currently in immigration proceedings,” they explained in a statement.
“On Nov. 4, ICE lodged a detainer on Mr. Lopez-Abrego with the Avery County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina after his arrest by local authorities,” they added.
Sadly, it’s not entirely uncommon for someone to be harmed or killed by an illegal immigrant. Last month, for instance, Daniel De Jesus Rangel Sherrer, a 19-year-old DACA recipient, was arrested and charged with “first-degree murder” after he confessed to deputies at the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office to forcing Diana Martinez-Gonzalez, an 18-year-old high school student, into a wooded area and fatally shooting her multiple times in the head. Apparently, he killed her because she was supposedly spreading false rumors about him.
And prior to that, Salvador Diaz-Garcia, a 21-year-old “DREAMer” living in Washington, was recently arrested and charged with brutally beating and raping a 19-year-old teen in her apartment complex’s gym. As a consequence, he’s facing several charges, including “second-degree assault, second-degree rape, and third-degree child molestation” and is being held on $25,000 bail.
Incidents like these underscore the importance of deporting people who are living in the country illegally. While it may be true that only some undocumented aliens break the law, those who do ruin it for everyone else. Because of this, anyone caught living here illegally needs to be removed. With fewer illegal immigrants living in the country, there will be fewer crimes committed by them, which will ultimately make our country safer.
Thankfully, under President Donald Trump, this appears to be exactly what’s happening.
