President Donald Trump is determined to make our country safer. Since taking office, one of his biggest focuses has been illegal immigration. This is because he recognizes the fact that countless law-abiding Americans have been harmed by people that should’ve never been in this country to begin with.
For example, an illegal immigrant was just arrested after killing an 18-year-old. He allegedly struck the teens motorcycle with his car, causing his death. The teen would be graduating high school this month if he was still alive.
According to reports, Eustacio Gregorio-Meza, an undocumented alien, caused the death of Kenneth Scott Mahr after he allegedly cut off his motorcycle trying to make a left turn out of a parking lot. When Meza pulled out, Mahr plowed into the side of his car and flew from his bike. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, but he died shortly after arrival.
Meza was arrested at the scene of the accident and is being held without bail. An eyewitness claimed the accident happened because Meza failed to do a complete stop before exiting. Had he simply been a little more vigilant, an innocent 18-year-old teen would still be alive to graduate this year from high school.
Unfortunately, Meza is not the only illegal immigrant recently arrested for ruining the lives of law-abiding legal residents. Earlier this year, Victor Rivera, who admitted to living in the U.S. illegally, also struck and killed someone on a motorcycle. Unlike Meza, Rivera fled the scene of the crash. Thankfully, police managed to track him down and arrest him.
Police also just arrested Nicolas Mateo, a previously deported immigrant, and charged him with a DUI for driving with a blood-alcohol content of .196, which is more than twice the legal limit. In addition to the DUI accusation, police also charged Mateo with “child abuse and illegal reentry after removal.”
After these criminals spend some time behind bars, they need to all be deported. They shouldn’t have been in our country in the first place. If our country had a more secure border and did a better job at enforcing our immigration laws, these incidents could have been completely avoided.
Fortunately, President Donald Trump understands the importance of securing our borders and enforcing the law. He’s working with his Attorney General (AG), Jeff Sessions, to restore law and order. Together, they have made it very clear that illegal immigrants are not welcome in our country.
With Sessions in charge, our country’s illegal problem will undoubtedly get better. This is because he thoroughly understands the issue and is determined to make our country safer. One way he’s trying to address the problem is by speaking directly to potential criminals. During a recent television appearance, he stated, “for those that continue to seek improper and illegal entry into this country, be forewarned: This is a new era. This is the Trump era.” He continued, “let me be very clear. Don’t come. Please don’t come” adding, “when you are caught, you will be detained, adjudicated and deported…do not come unlawfully. Wait your turn.”
Many on the left oppose Trump’s desire to make our country safer. They claim those who oppose illegal immigration, even if they favor legal immigration, are racist bigots and believe that if someone points out that some illegals are dangerous, then that means they’re saying all illegals are dangerous.
However, that’s just not true. There are definitely law-abiding people living in our country without the proper documentation. But that doesn’t change the fact that some are violent. Since none of them should be here in the first place, the dangerous ones ruin it for everyone else. We already have our own issues as a country. It would be foolish to add to them when we don’t have to. Tolerating illegal immigration is simply not worth the risk. Suggesting otherwise seems to unfairly put the criminal before the victim.
Some liberals even think that simply saying the word “illegal” is bigoted. According to the far-left news outlet CNN, it’s a slur because by calling someone an illegal immigrant, “you are effectively saying the individual, as opposed to the actions the person has taken, is unlawful. The terms imply the very existence of an unauthorized migrant in America is criminal.” Clearly, this interpretation is absolutely absurd. No one is saying that the very existence of someone is a crime. They’re simply identifying the fact that the person immigrated to this country illegally, hence the term “illegal.”
Despite what the left says, illegal immigration is a major problem in our country. Countless deaths could have been avoided if we did a better job enforcing our immigration laws. Fortunately, now that Trump’s in charge, it’s likely that this won’t be an issue much longer.
