Florida Republican Gov. Rick Scott is demanding Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Wray to be axed amid his bureau failing to act on numerous warnings and tips it received about the gunman who carried out the mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School.
On Wednesday, the 19-year-old killed 17 people and injured many others when he carried out a mass shooting at the Florida high school.
Scott said Wray should be held accountable for his bureau failing to take action prior to the mass shooting when it had been warned numerous times.
He added: “We constantly promote ‘see something, say something,’ and a courageous person did just that to the FBI. And the FBI failed to act. ‘See something, say something’ is an incredibly important tool and people must have confidence in the follow through from law enforcement. The FBI director needs to resign.”

The FBI admitted on Friday that it failed to follow proper protocols after it was tipped off on two separate occasions that Cruz has been partaking is dangerous behaviors in his personal life and online.
In one case, Cruz reportedly wrote in the comments section on a YouTube video that he wanted to be a famous school shooter. The FBI was tipped off, but failed to act.
In a statement from the FBI, the bureau admitted the tip it received detailed Cruz’s “gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.”
They did nothing.
Referencing the many scandals, abuses of power, and acts of corruption at the FBI, Scott said Wray needs to resign so the bureau can appoint a more sufficient leader to lead the premiere law enforcement agency.
