GOP Senator Lindsey Graham hasn’t embraced the ‘New Green Deal,’ like so many others on both sides of the aisle he recognizes it for the malarkey it is.
So, rather than let it gain speed, Graham is pushing for a vote on the non-binding resolution.
Let’s vote on the Green New Deal!
Americans deserve to see what kind of solutions far-left Democrats are offering to deal with climate change. https://t.co/VKTIyfnDCY

Graham knows the ‘Deal’ would never pass Congress because it’s idiotic, unwise, and outrageous. It calls for the end of most every industrial job, has a gigantic price tag, and even suggests eliminating air travel.
Of course, there’s also no way to force other nations to voluntarily destroy their economy, so it would just be the United States that would be plunged into a cesspool of misery and grief, while a few wealthy democrats doled out what the hoi polloi would get.
No specifics on how ‘America’ could lead the world in this generation’s ‘WWII’ have been outlined. And in fact, moderate democrats are stunned and ashamed that they would be expected to support something so asinine, fearing to alienate their voters, which include many unions.
The resolution calls for “10-year national mobilizations” to combat global warming (which has not proven) by “eliminating all carbon dioxide emissions from all sectors of the economy, including the power industry, agriculture, transportation and every building.”
There’s no chance a vote will ever come to pass either the House or Senate (at least at this point), but Graham’s idea is great, most people agree.
The reason is because it highlights the extreme stance of many of the 2020 presidential hopefuls on the left.
Equally notable, however, was the list of who signed on — most of the major Democratic presidential candidates in the race so far.
What they have pledged loyalty to at the moment is mostly a slogan and an idea — the particulars of the Green New Deal, and even the price tag, have yet to be worked out. Nevertheless, their enlistment in the crusade marked an important moment in both the presidential race and the changing nature of the political debate over climate change.
The Green New Deal claims it will start “repairing historic oppression” among certain groups and put in place a slew of welfare programs, from universal health care to government jobs guarantees for people who are “unwilling to work.”
“So really the heart of the Green New Deal is about social justice and it’s about allowing and fighting for things like fully funded pensions for coal miners in West Virginia, fighting for clean water in Flint, and fighting for the ability of indigenous peoples to take a leadership role in, in where we’re moving as a country,” Ocasio-Cortez told NPR Thursday.
“This cockamamie scheme is not about saving the planet. It’s about massively expanding the size and scope of the U.S. government, making mincemeat of the Constitution, and spending trillions upon trillions of dollars to make us all dependent on government.
“It’s as if Vladimir Lenin has been resurrected and his plan to nationalize business, industry, and capital has been re-imagined.
“The reaction to Ocasio-Cortez’s plan has been so negative — even from Democrats — that she’s been forced to pull the text from her website. It’s that bad.
Graham is right. Democrats should not be allowed to quietly ignore this massive communist scheme. They should be forced to either support it or not. Of course, hypocrisy within the party is almost a prerequisite, so even if there is a vote, the media will help to bury the blunder as quickly as possible.
