The impression of many people over the last few days is that South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has come alive during the confirmation hearings for Judge Kavanaugh. Assailed by more left-wing protesters demanding Judge Kavanaugh take a polygraph exam during, Graham snapped at the stunned leftists, “why don’t we dunk him in the water and see if he floats?”
The reference was to the Salem witch trials, which is much like the democrat hit job, many people say, that has happened to Kavanaugh.
Senator Graham has been considered a weak conservative lawmaker by many, especially concerning illegal aliens in the United States.
During the Kavanaugh hearings, he appears to have come alive with a savage passion for the U.S., and at least one aspect of President Trump’s agenda; the appointing of judges to the Supreme Court that strictly adhere to the Constitution and who don’t abuse their authority by legislating from the bench.
The cumulative effect of repeated protests, attacks, doxxing, and threats targeting both Kavanaugh and Senate members seems to have awakened a tiger in Graham, and he’s been fiercely defending the nominee.
At the close of the hearings, Graham launched into a denunciation of the Democrat’s tactics. Pointing out that Senator Chuck Schumer had declared to oppose the nominee with everything he had, a mere 23 minutes after the President’s pick was announced. Graham laid into the Democrats, calling the hearing, “the most unethical sham,” since he’d been in politics.
Many Americans who watched the proceedings agreed.
Graham pointed out that the left wanted to, “hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020.” He made clear it was the Democrats who made delaying the confirmation their goal, stating, “You’ve said that. Not me.”
He expressed hope that the American people could see through “this sham,” and that the Democrats never get power. Ending his remarks with, “to my Republican colleagues, if you vote no, you’re legitimizing the most despicable thing I have seen in my time in politics,”
Graham turned to Kavanaugh and said, “I hope you’re on the Supreme Court. That’s exactly where you should be.”
That investigation has been completed, with apparently the same conclusion as the previous six background checks the judge had been subjected to over his career; there was nothing in Kavanaugh’s past that would disqualify him to sit on the Supreme Court, and no evidence or witnesses whatsoever to validate any of the accusations Democrats had brought forth at the hearings, and in the media.
After reviewing the F.B.I. report Graham basically told reporters he had seen enough, and was ready to vote. As he attempted to speak, he was interrupted by a protester who called for Kavanaugh to take a polygraph test.
This didn’t set well with the Senator. He seems to have heard enough to know that Kavanaugh was a great pick, and to have had enough of the left’s antics.
Turning to the rude woman who was insisting on further delays to accommodate a lie detector test, Graham flatly stated, “We’ve humiliated this guy enough, and there seems to be no bottom for some of you.”
As she droned on, he asked the protester, “Why don’t we dunk him in the water and see if he floats.”
Graham has been a lively defender of Kavanaugh through the hearings, pointing out the hypocrisy if the left in regard to their treatment of Judge Kavanaugh.
The Democrats seem to have embraced all accusations against the judge, without regard to the absurdity of the charges, or the lack of credibility of the individuals making the allegations.
To date, not one accusation brought against the judge has been corroborated. To date, every single accusation has been denied by Kavanaugh, and by all witnesses named by his accusers.
Looking back at the numerous allegations against liberal hero Bill Clinton or even Kieth Ellison, exposes the difference in how both the accusers and the accused were treated by Democrats.
Lindsey Graham appears to have had enough of the left’s dog and pony show.
Many Americans feel the same way.
