DOJ Probing Mayor Who Warned Illegals Of Ice Raid

DOJ is looking into obstruction charge against Oakland mayor who warned of the ICE raid.

Obstruction charges looming against liberal mayor.

The Department of Justice is strongly considering obstruction charges against the liberal Oakland, California mayor who tipped off illegals about a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid.

During an interview, Wednesday on Fox & Friends, ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan said the DOJ is “reviewing” whether Libby Schaaf violated any laws when she warned illegal immigrants in her area of an upcoming ICE raid.

On Saturday, Schaaf tweeted out a screenshot of the email she received indicating that ICE would be carrying out a large sweep of the area on Sunday.

Schaaf knew the ICE raid would result in a large group of illegals being identified and arrested, so she tipped them off from the U.S. government so they had time to seek cover.

Homan said it is highly probable the Democrat violated the law when she warned illegals about the federal immigration operation that was set to take place Saturday night.

Homan said despite Schaaf’s efforts to shield illegals, ICE still arrested more than 150 people “in violation of federal U.S. immigration laws” in San Francisco.

ICE reported that there are 864 illegal immigrants currently in the Bay Area that “remain at large in the community.”

Homan said ICE could have arrested even more on Sunday, but blamed Schaaf’s warning for giving illegals the chance to seek cover.

“What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling ‘police’ when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community,” Homan said.

He added: “There’s over 800 significant public safety threat criminals … that we are unable to locate because of that warning, so that community’s a lot less safe than it would’ve been.”

Schaaf should be charged with obstruction for tipping off illegal aliens about the raid, which prioritized them over the safety of the American people.
