Disgusting: Investigation Reveals Planned Parenthood Provided No Care Except For Abortions

Cecile Richards defends her organization

Planned Parenthood needs support from people other than pro-choice advocates. It is that requirement that forces them to offer services other than abortion; or at least appear to offer them.

If you visit their website, they seem to provide a wide range of healthcare options besides abortion:

  • Birth Control
  • Body Image -We all have ideas and feelings about how we look. Learning more about body image can help you stay healthy — mentally and physically
  • General Health Care
  • Men’s Sexual Health
  • Morning-After Pill (Emergency Contraception)
  • Pregnancy
  • Relationships – Romantic or sexual relationships are one way to connect and share with other people. Planned Parenthood answers your questions about relationships.
  • Sex & Sexuality
  • Sexual Orientation & Gender – Sexual orientation and gender identity are fundamental parts of who we are. Planned Parenthood answers your questions about these important topics.
  • STDs
  • Women’s Health

A few of these categories raise some questions all on their own. I included their descriptions because it is interesting to ponder what Planned Parenthood is doing involving themselves in these issues with taxpayer money.

They can advertise their other services but when it comes down to it, they are an abortion clinic. They make the claim that “Abortions are very common. In fact, 3 out of 10 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old.” This statistic doesn’t match with other records provided from different sources.

These numbers don’t equal out to 3 in 10…

Pro-choice or pro-life, it is disturbing to have an agency speaking about abortions so casually. If an abortion is done, it should be a serious decision and not used as a form of birth control. Planned Parenthood wants to make it an easy choice, after all; they need the business.

Anyone can use Planned Parenthood although they do tend to target low income people. However, they do take insurance and it is doubtful they turn anyone away. The question that people want to know is; does Planned Parenthood really provide services other than abortions and birth control? According to a new undercover investigation that was done, the answer is no.

Live Action, a pro-life group did this investigation to find out what sort of prenatal services Planned Parenthood would actually provide. They set out to find answers due to claims from Planned Parenthood they felt might be false.

The group states that Planned Parenthood “often insists that the organization provides vital services that have nothing to do with their thriving abortion business or fetal organ harvesting and profiteering. They vastly overstate women’s reliance on Planned Parenthood, and wrongly claim that its clinics do things like offer mammograms and other cancer screening services.  Another justification offered is that the group doesn’t just end pregnancies but also gives important prenatal care to expectant mothers who don’t walk through the door to end the lives of their unborn children.”

97 Planned Parenthood facilities were contacted (their website claims they have 650 centers across America) by investigators asking for information about prenatal services.  Out of those contacted, 92 clearly stated that they do not offer prenatal services.

“Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don’t offer prenatal care.”

–Tempe, AZ, Planned Parenthood

“No, we don’t do prenatal services. I mean, it’s called Planned Parenthood, I know it’s kind of deceiving.”

–Merrillville, IN, Planned Parenthood

“No, see, we don’t see pregnant women as a way of giving prenatal care, we see pregnant women, um, you know, if they are considering other options.”

–Santa Fe, NM, Planned Parenthood

We specialize in abortions. You know, that’s what our ultrasounds are for, to see how far along the patient is.”

— Farmington, N.M, Planned Parenthood

A call made to the Virginia Beach, VA. clinic includes a recorded voice mail greeting that claims the Planned Parenthood clinic offers prenatal care. When the journalist was connected to an actual employee, they were told that prenatal services were not available.

With the government, led by President Trump, considering cutting Planned Parenthood federal funding, this is an essential investigation. It appears that Live Action will continue its investigations to expose the lies that Planned Parenthood is telling in order to justify their existence.

They do not know what they are defending

Their annual report for 2014 says that Planned Parenthood performed 323,999 abortions. That is an average of approximately 500 abortions per clinic in the nation. They can make whatever claims they want but the truth is in the facts; in the above sample size, almost 98% confirmed they were not providing advertised services.

Other services that they do provide, such as cancer screenings, are performed in many other types of medical settings at low cost.

If Planned Parenthood is simply a collection of well-funded abortion clinics that also get paid for aborted baby body parts, then they should be completely ineligible for federal funding. It is not the government’s job to provide those services.

In May of 2016, Gallup reported that 69% of Americans were only in favor of abortion under certain circumstances; generally rape, abuse, or if the mother’s life is in danger.

Planned Parenthood has managed to avoid being so definitely opposed because of the alleged services they provide other than abortions. Since this is obviously just a façade, President Trump should push for them to be defunded as soon as possible.
