Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen “joked” that Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn should jump off a bridge when speaking about the hotly contested race in Tennessee. As noted by Breitbart, both Cohen and Blackburn represent districts in Tennessee. Cohen has been campaigning with Democrat candidate Gov. Phil Bredesen, who is running against Blackburn for the vacant Senate seat.
During a speech in late July before pastors at a Memphis church, Cohen mocked Blackburn to the attendees over her support of President Donald Trump. Claiming that she will do “whatever the president” asks, he “joked” that he wanted to see Trump order her off a bridge. He apparently found it humorous at the thought of Blackburn hurting herself or, at worst, not surviving the fall. Given this and countless other examples, it is clear which party is instigating violence and division in politics.
“The big orange president … He’s going to come down here and he is going to endorse Marsha Blackburn, because Marsha Blackburn, if he says, ‘Jump off the Harahan Bridge,’ she’ll jump off the Harahan Bridge,” Cohen said, according to HuffPost. “I wish he’d say that.”
While some may say Cohen’s comment was harmless and nothing too bad, it’s important to understand that Cohen has a history of making vile and disgusting comments about the president and anyone who supports him.
As noted by Conservative Daily Post, last month, Cohen strongly implied that a military coup needs to take place to save the United States from Trump.
Cohen sent out a tweet on July 16, strongly insinuating that America’s “military folks” need to take action against Trump following his joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Cohen was referring to Trump and Putin holding a news conference on Monday at a Summit in Finland. In his tweet, the democrat questioned why the military hasn’t taken some action against the president and claimed that Trump was in the hands of the enemy.
Where are our military folks ? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy! https://t.co/3eF7OLKEdN

Democrats like Cohen have every right to make egregious and disturbing comments, but it is likely going to have backfiring consequences with voters in Tennessee who do not support the use of such abhorrent behavior.
Whether it is telling a member of Congress to go jump off a bridge — implying that she could really hurt herself and may not survive the fall — or suggesting a military coup against a sitting president, which is no laughing matter, Cohen continues to make troubling comments.
Cohen’s chilling comments are indicative of how low many liberals are willing to stoop to show their opposition to the president and anyone who supports him.
