DACA Plan Unveiled, “Extremely Generous Provisions” For Democrats
The move is designed to ensure 60 votes in the Senate.

President Trump is trying to find an agreement for everyone.
President Donald Trump’s newly unveiled immigration plan will offer a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal immigrants in exchange for three major principles he has requested.
Lawmakers are working with Trump to find a legislative solution to the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which provided blanket protections to at least 800,000 illegal children who came to the U.S. with their parents.
The controversial — and illegal — program expires March 5, so Trump’s new plan gives lawmakers on both sides of the aisle a clear understanding of what the president wants.
As noted by Axios, here’s what the White House wants in return:
- A complete end to both the immigration diversity lottery and chain migration.
- A $25 billion “trust fund” to pay for a wall system, meaning a wall in all areas not protected by natural barriers.
- A major increase in funds for border security measures and the hiring of more border patrol agents and officials at the Department of Homeland Security.
- The closing of several Obama-era loopholes that constrained how agents and courts worked in unison to deport illegal aliens, primarily the “catch-and-release” policies employed under Obama.
Axios reported it listened in on a call with White House adviser Stephen Miller explaining Trump’s immigration plan to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The White House believes their deal is a fair compromise, where Miller said it includes “some extremely generous provisions that should make Democratic support to get to 60 votes a given.”
