Just recently, CNN’s Chris Cuomo, who previously suggested on the news outlet that violent members of the far-left group known as “Antifa” are supposedly on “the side of the right,” blasted President Donald Trump.
He did so after the president pointed out the unfortunate fact that 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts, who was allegedly murdered in Iowa earlier this month by 24-year-old Cristhian Bahena Rivera, an illegal alien, has been permanently separated from her mother, who is sadly now an “angel mom,” and everyone else in her family.
Apparently, making such an obvious claim, according to the liberal journalist, is “offensive.”
Specifically, while speaking to his viewers during the closing monologue of his show about Tibbetts’ recent death, Cuomo, who appeared to be having a meltdown, stated, “I wonder if these sympathizers would be as full-throated about these tragedies if the killers were white citizens, if the victims were not young white women.”
After mentioning this, he asked, “if that were the case, would we see a video like this from Trump today?”
By saying this, Cuomo appears to be suggesting that the race of the killer and victim somehow makes the crime less outrageous. Many, however, would agree that the concern isn’t the race of the people, but whether or not they should even be in the country in the first place.
A brief video clip of President Trump talking about the tragic murder of young college student was then played on the screen.
“Mollie Tibbetts was an incredible young woman who was permanently separated from her family,” explained the president in a video that was recently published online.
“A person came in, from Mexico, illegally, and killed her,” he added before the clip ended, noting, “we need the wall, we need our immigration laws changed.”
Cuomo then reappeared and, quite absurdly, told viewers, “permanently separated. It’s as obvious as it is offensive. So he cares about Mollie Tibbetts more than people who don’t believe in separating kids from parents? Or treating undocumented immigrants like dogs? Please. What that tells you, that even in this moment, talking about Mollie Tibbetts, he still has to play to political advantage.”
Many, though, would view Cuomo’s reasoning as utterly ridiculous due to the fact that there’s a massive difference between a woman who was brutally murdered by someone who should have never been in the United States to begin with and people who end up being detained and temporarily separated from their children while attempting to enter into the country illegally.
Alarmingly, though, Cuomo did not end his tirade against the president here. He went on to add, “and it is proof that he still doesn’t want to own what he did to those kids, and many of them are still waiting to get back with their parents, we have not forgotten. The president still doesn’t think it is wrong, and he thinks grandstanding about Tibbetts gives him high ground, well it does not.”
Again, by saying this, many would say it’s clear that Cuomo is completely missing the point of Trump’s outrage. It has nothing to do with grandstanding. Rather, it has to do with the fact that an American citizen was slaughtered by someone who had been living in the country unlawfully for several years, which, as noted earlier, is completely different than parents who break the law being separated from their children.
In addition to lashing out at the president, the leftist journalist also made sure to target conservative media outlets for supposedly having a double standard when it comes to the way they cover deaths purportedly caused by undocumented aliens and deaths allegedly caused by police brutality.
“Nor do the people covering this like some kind of ‘gotcha!’ have high ground,” asserted Cuomo, quite ludicrously.
“Why? These are the same people that tamp down some police use-of-force cases and say, ‘Those cases are being politicized,”’ he continued, adding, “they mitigate facts, they play the coverage very close to the vest, because ‘We don’t want it to be about politics.’”
Still, however, countless people would consider Cuomo’s reasoning to be absolutely ridiculous since there may be numerous other reasons why the outrage would be different between murders reportedly committed by illegal immigrants and deaths supposedly caused by police brutality, such as a dispute over whether or not police brutality actually occurred.
Sadly, though, Cuomo is not the only one to recently bash President Trump and other conservatives.
Several days ago, for example, Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), who was previously impeached from a federal court in Florida for reportedly accepting a bribe as a district court judge and committing perjury in his testimony about the incident afterward, made what many would view as an absolutely horrific joke about President Donald Trump drowning in the Potomac River.
What’s worse, Rep. Hastings also, quite alarmingly, suggested that it would apparently be a “catastrophe” if a good Samaritan ended up rescuing him from death.
And a few weeks before that, Colorado resident Suzanne Gagnon basically suggested that Trump is a traitor who should be executed in a vile “Letter to the Editor” that had been published by the Denver Post news outlet.
In an attempt to justify his criticism, he asserted that undermining facts could essentially lead to democracy’s “undoing” and then went on to basically suggest that President Trump spends a lot of his time doubling down on lies instead of actively trying to correct the false claims that are made by others.
Clearly, it is not uncommon for people to viciously bash President Trump and other conservatives. Unfortunately, though, based on comments that were recently made by Cuomo, it’s not clear that the attacks are going to stop anytime in the near future.
