Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot seems determined to burn the city to the ground. She has done everything possible to support riots, looting, destruction and killing, all while vilifying the city’s police force and President Trump’s attempt to return the law order she apparently despises.
The president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police blasted Lightfoot’s “totally unhinged, unprofessional, childish” behavior and likened it to “intentionally” steering the Titanic into the iceberg.
Chicago Fraternal Order of Police president John Catanzara slammed Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s leadership Tuesday, accusing her of “running the Titanic into an iceberg intentionally.”
“The mayor likes to use the word ‘unhinged.” The ironic part is the mayor became unhinged,” Catanzara told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham Tuesday night. “I wish I could show you the text messages that she sent me over the weekend as soon as she found out that I had sent the request to President Trump.”
“She was the one who became totally unhinged, unprofessional, childish,” he said, “and it was really pathetic for the leader of a city.”
Catanzara was referring to the request he made via a letter to Trump to send federal assistance to Chicago to help stem the explosion in crime that has plagued the city in recent weeks.
“She’s literally running the Titanic into an iceberg intentionally,” Catanzara added. “Fifty-six rounds fired, I’m told, and 17 people shot tonight at a funeral where there was police … special attention because of the gang victim that was already being waked at the funeral home.”
Lightfoot has pushed back against those who have criticized her leadership and vision combating crime by saying there are “way too many guns on the streets” and that it’s a “complicated” situation due to the death of George Floyd and coronavirus shutdowns.
