Three counties in Virginia overwhelmingly rejected the push to remove and destroy historical monuments.
Mathews County voters rejected a proposal to relocate the Soldiers & Sailors Monument by 3,778 to 939. In Middlesex County, the vote against moving its Civil War Monument was 3,229 to 1,076.
Nottoway County voted No by 68-32%.
There are also 3 local referenda in Virginia on removing Civil War monuments.

Exit polls showed 53% of all Virginians want Confederate monuments left in place.
