The mainstream media is continuing its silence over the laughter of a well-known, black Trump supporter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bernell Trammell, a vocal man of God and adamant supporter of the president, was executed in broad daylight on the lawless streets of democrat-land.
Trammell, 60, was gunned down on July 23 near the very spot where he gave a video interview a few hours before explaining why he supported Trump.
Milwaukee police are seeking what they described as “unknown suspects.” The motive is not clear, including whether or not the slaying was tied into Trammell’s political beliefs or Trump support. Some news outlets gave the victim’s name as Bernell Tremmell, but he goes by Trammell on social media.
The Wisconsin GOP is now calling for a federal investigation by the U.S. Attorney into the shooting death because of “his well known political activism and the possibility that his murder could be politically motivated,” WISN-12 reported.
Kevan Penvose wrote on Facebook that Trammell “was a man with whom I hardly ever agreed about anything he wrote on his signs, but also, as a Rasta street preacher, he was one of the people that make my neighborhood so uniquely wonderful. Around 12:30 this afternoon I heard gunshots nearby as I was working at my dining room table. Soon after, I was reading reports on social media of a shooting around the block, at the location of this one-of-a-kind storefront that I’ve walked by a million times… Peace and light, Ras Bernell.”
Johnny Schaeffer, 45, knew Trammell for almost his entire life because his mother once dated him, and they stayed in touch over the years. “I’m devastated,” he told Heavy in a phone interview.
Authorities say Trammell, 60, was sitting outside his publishing company when a vehicle pulled in front of the business and someone fatally shot and killed Trammell execution-style before speeding away. Trammell had reportedly spent the weeks leading up to his death advocating for Trump’s reelection.
Because of Trammell’s outspoken support for President Trump, Andrew Hitt, chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, put out a statement following Trammell’s murder.
“It is tragic to learn of the senseless murder of Bernell Trammell, and I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Because of Trammell’s well known political activism and the possibility that his murder could be politically motivated, I respectfully request that United States Attorney Matthew Krueger open an investigation into this heinous crime. No American should fear for their personal safety because of where they live or their political affiliation,” wrote Chairman Hitt.
Trammell operated eXpressions Journal for several years and was often spotted carrying signs about politics and religion, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. Trammell was a well-known figure in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood.
While there is currently no suspect in custody and a possible motive remains unknown, the director of Milwaukee’s Office of Violence Prevention, Reggie Moore, told the Journal Sentinel of a recent dispute between Trammall and a young man that Moore believes was related to a Trump sign that Trammell had been carrying.
Milwaukee police are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to call (414) 935-7360 or Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS.
