Biden AG Pick Refuses To Call Illegal Crossings A Crime, Says Antifa, BLM Attacks Not Terrorism

Seriously… you can carry out domestic terrorism with impunity as long as it happens at night?

The Biden regime is working hard (along with help from the media) to claim a “moderate” stance, yet every single action it has taken is radically left to the point of communist slavery. That push was on display yesterday as Biden’s pick for Attorney General explained that illegal alien invaders aren’t breaking the law, and Antifa and BLM attacks aren’t domestic terrorism because they happened at night.

Many people wonder about the violence that happened during the day?

The Gateway Pundit reported:

During the hearing, Sen. Josh Hawley asked the nominee, Merrick Garland, if he believes that illegally crossing our borders should remain a crime.

“Do you believe that illegal entry at America’s borders should remain a crime?” Hawley asked.

“I haven’t thought about that question… uhhh… uhhhhhhh… I just haven’t thought about that question,” Garland reluctantly replied. “I think the uh, the uh, president has, uh, made clear that we are a country of uh with borders and uh a concern about national security. Um, I don’t know of proposal to uh decriminalize, but um, still make it unlawful to uh, enter.”

Garland continued to assert that he does not know the answer to the question and hasn’t thought about it.

Hawley went on to ask if he will continue to prosecute unlawful border crossings.

“This is again, ah, uh, a question of allocation of resources. We will uh, the department, will um ah um, I don’t know,” Garland rambled nearly incoherently.

The nominee eventually said that he “assumes” the answer will be yes, but that he doesn’t know.

When questioned by Hawley about if he considers Antifa and Black Lives Matter attacks on the courthouse in Portland to be “domestic terrorism,” Garland said he might not, because those attacks happened at night.

The Gateway Pundit reported:

Garland said that his personal definition of domestic terrorism is the use of violence or threats of violence to interrupt the democratic process, therefore, attacks on buildings at night probably don’t count.

Of course, the goal of the attacks is likely to stop the function of the people working in the buildings during the day — but that doesn’t seem to have crossed the potential Attorney General’s mind.

“So, an attack on a courthouse while in operation — trying to prevent judges from actually deciding cases, that plainly is domestic extremism, uh uh um um uh uh, doestic terrorism. An attack simply on a government property at night, or under any other kind of circumstances, is a clear crime and a serious one, and should be punished,” he stumbled through saying before claiming he doesn’t know “enough facts” about what Hawley was talking about.

(Oh, like the ones carried out by leftists against the Supreme Court last year? How about those that actually took possession of the capitol in Oregon?]

“That’s where I draw the line. One is, uh, both are criminal, um uh uh, but one is a core attack on our democratic institutions,” he continued.

One might argue that attempting to burn down a federal building at night is an attempt to interrupt its normal functioning during the day https://t.co/MVPofNn6NB

Seems like he’s less concerned with our “democratic institutions” and more concerned about “Democratic Party institutions.”
